If I remember right you could see clear as day in stock SH3 underwater.

With GWX, you lose the sunlight from the surface after 30m.

Yep....more or less.

However, using SH3 Commander water set at level 20 isn't too far away from stock.

Well, interesting...there was no difference at 20 and 160 m. for me....I was just curious how this would work in reality....

Hey jim, in relation to this topic, has anyone from GW dev team or other modder's come up with a way to put alge in the water to give it more realistic look underwater? Or is it out of the game engine's ability?

Where the game engine fails to produce realism, this is where the roleplay comes in .

Not as far as I am aware.

The game engine is now quite oooold (3 1/2 years roughly).

I remember the early seabed floor efforts and the fps hit some of them caused, so I should imagine an algae mod could well have a similar detrimental effect.

Not sure how much algae the North Atlantic would have, South Atlantic\Med would I am guessing.

Has anybody tried porting this effect from SH4? Stock is a little overdone, but there are mods that tone it down somewhat.

Just a question...why would you want your scope up that could potentially get damaged from the DC your looking to avoid? (In RL anyway)
