SH3 not so realistic afterall?
Guys, what's with the periscopes underwater? I could use them at a depth of 160 m, very useful when evading depth charges...I suppose in reality one cannot do that, it's too dark down there, right?:)
|
I can't :o Past 25m's and its like pea soup:yep:
|
You could easily just not use it after a certain depth. It isn't as if you have important functions to do with it at 200 metres...
|
From the detail supplied I presume your playing stock? :hmmm:

Same here. Dark as a bottom after 25. In night i can´t even see the stern...
But easy task to solve, don´t look in the periscope :) |
Well, didn't try it at night-yet, but if I remember well, indeed, around 20-30 m. it's pitch black... but this ain't no problem, on the contrary, quite useful:D...I'm using GWX3 by the way.

The operative word here is reality.............periscopes are for looking at the surface and sky, not underwater...........clarity is an issue......... |
yeah my periscope is pretty much useless below about 30 meters.
|
If I remember right you could see clear as day in stock SH3 underwater.
With GWX, you lose the sunlight from the surface after 30m.:) |

However, using SH3 Commander water set at level 20 isn't too far away from stock. |
Well, interesting...there was no difference at 20 and 160 m. for me....I was just curious how this would work in reality....:salute:
|
Hey jim, in relation to this topic, has anyone from GW dev team or other modder's come up with a way to put alge in the water to give it more realistic look underwater? Or is it out of the game engine's ability?:)
|
LOL, I remember those days, navigating mine fields using the OBS scope.:har:
