But I like Shogun too. It was incredible for its time. And HunterICX was right its in game music was just awesome and hasn't been matched by any of the subsequent total war games. I like shogun clips as well. They were not silly comical clips like those we find in Medieval 2. I found myself always watching the cut scenes in shogun. ![]() But Total war hasn't really been the same since Rome. Rome was revolutionary. I remember the hype when Rome was in development and when it came out. And I also agree with Max that Rome in terms of unit variety offers the most interesting gameplay. ![]() For those of you who haven't got ETW I think it's the buggiest total war game ever and it's a bit boring when it comes to battles compared with the previous total war games. But it's still the best game in its genre out there as in all Total War games. But I think somehow, could be because of the era it is set in that Medieval 2 is very much worth grabbing. It's a classic. It supports widescreen with improved graphics than Rome and unlimited number of men in battlefield plus your reinforcement fights with you in full numbers as soon as the battle starts. However one thing that is declining in the total war series is its music. Shogun was best in its music, then I would rank Rome as second then Medieval 2 as third and last Empire TW music is just horrible. ![]()
