Obviously the saying/proverb relates to having endless amounts of patience... but I seem to find it works best if you go a ways upstream and kill the enemy and toss them in the river - then you can hurry downstream to watch them float by in a very relaxed and karmic state while pondering the eternal mysteries of life.
