obviously an honest mistake though - i mean who is going to intentionally blow a red light sitting right in front of an officer

GR, I've seen that many times. But my favorite one was this guy who had a few too many pops, sat at a stop sign for over a minute in front of me. I get out of the car, and after he figures out who I am, tells me "I was just waiting the light to turn green..."
