Went to a sewing shop with a sized picture of what I wanted them to make on their computer operated embroidery machine and had it in 15 minutes with the iron-on backing. $17.00

Total Price $27.00 Plus I had 2 beers next door.

Or like me, one can buy a white mutze cap from the bundesmarine for 30€, buy the leaves, kokarde and the kriegsmarine metal eagle for 10$ each or cheaper and make a great u-boat kaleunt white cap. The only drawback is the golden buttons on the side that are different. But barely noticeable!.

Hope this ain't too off topic. What rank is Jurgen P. in Das Boot? I thought it Kapitanleutnant. In the above link to the Captain's hat, the scrambled eggs on the visor seem different than on the hat from the movie.
