Thanks for your time.
Open up the Campaign_scr in mission editor and add them to whichever ports you want
Thanks I know that. I was hoping or maybe wishing I didn't have to...

Hola, Kamaraden,

As a student of La Guerra Civil, I agree there is potential for an interesting campaign in Spain, before & during WWII. After all, U-boats & Italian subs were involved in the Civil War, for example, to enforce the blockade (naturally, they tended to intercept Soviet shipments to the Republic). Also there was the secret "Operation Ursula" that our Spanish friends are very familiar with, por supuesto. So carry on, I look forward to seeing what you develop!

Uhmmm...,

Of course, I´m interested in a campaign on the spanish civil war but being honest and realistic, I am more interested in developping Navies as Spain Navy , neutral but supporting Axis countries , at least for the first years of the war...

Also, for those who are playing "hard realistic", it could be more nice and more difficult to shoot or not, to sink or not neutral or enemy ships, it deppend on the period of time or just the "flag"

Happy new year with a lot of victories

So you're going to make other navies' ships? How about adding the French ones?

Spanish civil war. Fascist Franco versus Nationalists. FF won, and Canarias was on his side. FF was also a Third Reich ally, but he and Hitler hated each other, and Spain never joined Axis or Ally

Still, no sinking neutral ships anyways..

There were no fascist forces as such. The closest was La Falange, which was part of the Nationalists and was discredited some time after, during the terrible post-war years (their economic model focused on autarchy).
Both sides were an alliance of sorts (often in conflict) between different factions; fascists, conservatives, Catholics, monarchists and so on for the Nationalists and democrats, anarchists, separatists, commies and such for the Republicans.

As for the reasons why Spain did not enter the war, the fascists wanted to, but pretty much nobody else. The military (Admiral Carrero Blanco) discouraged such an intervention. Spain had been devastated by the Civil War and Hitler could not guarantee grain supply. He did not want to antagonize Vichy France either by giving in to Franco's territorial demands in Africa.

Nekh is of course right, there were many different factions in each side, but I write fascist forces here for our english speaking friends because if you are foreigner and don't know well the spanish history, it's easy to misunderstand everything. For example, if I talk about the "nationalist forces" that could be for a brit or a german either the catalonian and basque nationalists (Which were aligned with the communists and anarchists against Franco and co), or the "spanish" nationalists instead (Franco and co). Usually outside Spain everyone identifies "fascist" with Franco (Even if Franco himself was not fascist), and that makes it easier to understand who am I referring to. The spanish civil war is a too complicated historical affair, there were so many causes and factions involved that unless someone is interested in getting deep into it, just speaking of "fascists" as opposed to "republicans" is what usually works better to make foreigners understand what you are talking about.

And now, please let's get back to the SH3 mod , we don't want to hijack this thread with a discussion that belongs to the General Topics forum.

You´re right, Hitman. I forgot that most people in this forum has no enough information about the Spanish Second Republic, the Civil War and Franco´s dictatorship. My apologies, I didn´t try to turn this thread into a political discussion between spaniards with foreign help on both sides.

BTW, nice work with Churruca, AH_Thor!
