It looks like the online requirement hasn't gone so well for Neoqb.

Glad to see them come to their senses and back down.
At last I will soon be able to buy RoF.

Your turn now Ubisoft!

If Ubisoft is not reading these threads, they are in for big poo-poo.

Good post, Letum!

It will be one hell of a massive patch if they do lol. These DRMs are not things like Starforce that are tagged on at the end, the entire game is built around a log in, all account info stored on their server, basis. It would be a massive re-write.

neoqb managed to kill off most talk of the DRM and Ubi could do it too. Wait until just before release then tell everyone they are releasing other subs, but you have to pay for each one to be unlocked in your account. Nobody will talk about DRM anymore lol.

If it has stopped you I would not buy it yet lol. Lefty posted that in Dec, it would take a long time to make such a fundamental change to the game structure I believe.

Also, I do have access to a "News From the Inside" section of the ROF forum open to devs, publishers, moderators, beta testers etc. I obviously can't tell you what I DO see in there, but I can tell you what I do NOT see, and that is any talk of it coming out any time soon.

Yep, ROF might be my first flight sim. They are obviously bleeding dollars over the DRM, though.

Thus an even more compelling argument against DRM if they are going down that path - they've obviously decided that the benefit of removing DRM far outweighs the high cost. In my opinion they will gain quite a few buyers now (these are the buyers, like me, that you keep forgetting when you claim there's a lack of complaints about DRM over at the RoF forums).

I have been wanting to get a modern WW1 sin for ages, since Rowan's Flying Corps, but that online DRM kept me away from ROF. If it is removed, I will buy it happily and send them a proof of purchase so they can know both I got it legally, and that I didn't get it before because of that system.

In any case, would be interesting to see once the DRM is removed, how much the sales do increase

Hitman my main WWI flight sim is First Eagles by ThirdWire. Leans a little more toward action than serious sim, but with all the mods out there, it's a very good game.

If/when they remove DRM from ROF I'll buy it. That's the only reason I'm not right now.

ROF sounds like a nice sim. When they drop DRM, they've got a customer here

RoF's "News From The Inside" tell perhaps 50% of what is in actual and future development .... LOL

Well you picked one helluva title to begin with.

It's not exactly noob friendly

Of course all I have seen is the demo and even that was a pita to install due to online verification.

By the way what does "offline SP" mean? Single Player? The game is predominatly single player.
