WOW!!! This mod is a MUST. I'm not much of a poster, but after seeing what this mod does, I just had to say something. I about crapped my pants when a zero dove on my sub and I saw the plane's reflection in the water. If you really want to appreciate what it does, try the artillery training mission. let the AI work the flak guns and fly around in free cam mode. after a plane is destroyed, follow it all the way down to the water and pause the action just before the plane hits the water.

BRAVO ZULU on a great mod

Where does this contribute to gameplay? Are people driving their subs from external view? How are you going to see this reflection from inside the submerged submarine? Personally, I've almost never even seen an airplane! When I do see one I don't waste time with my Audubon guide book admiring the authentic details! I immediately duck inside and dive for the bottom. They could be flying rubber duckies for all I care. I'm getting the heck out of Dodge.

I don't know a game Zero from a game Betty and don't care! All I know is that those radar blips want to hurt me and I don't want them to see me or me to see them. I work really hard to keep it that way.

It's probably just an unfortunate character defect on my part. I guess I'm just not the birdwatcher type.

Not every mod has to contribute to gameplay. Some people like visuals, and some still play with external view. Including me (well I'm not playing actually, but if I did, I'd still use external view)

I think he did a find job

well, let's say you don't want to show the peri or
radar antenna you could do a quick check for airplanes
by looking up with a slightly raised observation scope,
check second pic (refraction).

anything that betters this game is fair game !

keltos

I use the external view to see where the dc explode etc... but not when playing a mission.

Here are some screenies from last night. Note: still pics don't do the mod justice. trust me, the first time you see the planes reflection as it flies by, (even when you are just on the bridge ) you'll be quite impressed. Again, great mod Mr. Vickers

Nice looking screenies Nbjackso! You should enter the top one in a few screenshot contests. Then I'd edit the parachute into it and enter it into an edited screenshot contest.

Vickers, the way I play, there can't BE a plane up there to refract when I surface. I don't need to raise either radar antenna or scope, I just pop up and hit the throttle to 9 knots to continue on. So I never have the opportunity to see reflection or refraction of airplanes. Most of the time the water is too turgid to see the surface anyway when submerged. And doesn't the plane have to be mighty close to see his silhouette like that?

I guess we just have to go to skwasjer's observation that not all mods have to contribute to gameplay. I have sub skins for my Balao and S-Boat and have no clue how I could claim they contribute to gameplay.
