Default [Tec] What section turns the HUD light green?

I successfully added a 6th button to OrdersBar.cfg in the "[Station8] Name=5680" Radar section and am using a green lamp HUD that I like:
GreenLamp1.5.rar 2/28/2008 10:39 PM.

I have read the threads on menu_1024_768.ini (where I think the solution is) but I can't figure out how to get the yellow light to turn green when activated.

The periscope does - for example.

Anyone have a clue?

Thanks, Art

I don't know the answer, but did you look over the mod itself? The mod is making the changes that cause it to be green, so the answer should be in the MOD. Not trying to be a wise guy, so don't read it wrong. But that is where I would look first to see what it is changing.

I believe what you're looking for is in the ordersbar.cfg file.

Something along the lines of

Button3Type=Checkbox
Button3CommandWhenClicked=Radar_toggle_on_off
Button3CommandToCheckIfIsChecked=Is_Radar_On
Button3CommandToCheckIfIsEnabled=Is_RadarStation_U sable

should give you a green light on the button whenthe radar is activated (that is, if you were asking for the radar on/off button).

Have you tried JimiMadrid's Menu maker? It's a beauty for adding buttons without having to dive into the files by hand. You can find it at http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=131625

The only files in the mod were the American and German HUD.dds files with no Readme. All the Stock 1.5 HUD lamps turn green just fine when activated. It is a 1.5 version of jimimadrid's original version style.

The problem is the new button I added to raise the SD antenna works fine but doesn't turn green to show that it's raised like the periscopes do..

This is what I added to OrdersBar.cfg:

Button6Command=Toggle_snorkel
Button6IconRowColumn=8,2
Button6Tooltip=Raise SD Antenna

I may give Menu maker a try. I like the Dev's Stock 1.5 button style however.

Thanks, Art

Hey, Art, I don't think there is a way to turn the light green for the snorkel (I could be, should be, wish I were wrong). I have a button to do the same thing and I looked all over (and tried countless ideas) for the trigger for the snorkel and couldn't figure it out. I gave up after a few hours and never went back to it.

Hi Art, i'm sorry but i have to agree Digital_Trucker.

Menumaker let you try your own commands. I have tried different commands for locking the snorkel (Is_Snorkel_Active, Is_Snorkel_risen_at_all, etc) but i get only failure messages starting SH4.

i have look into a lot of files, but i did not find any list for the locking commands.
Without knowing the real lock commands we do not have any change to get the damned button green.
Maybe it's hardcoded without specified command.
