You can also convert .flv files into .wmv so you could skip over some footage unlike viewing in .flv, it makes things a little screwy.

If you want to view it in .flv or .wmv, VLC media player is recommended.

This little doodad (a javascript bookmarklet) works in Firefox and Internet Explorer to add a link on a Youtube page to allow you to download the video as an MP4.
