I am sure it won't be scrapped, if Seeadler needs more time, he has earned it. We can all wait

Can it be loaded up through the generic mod loader or do we have to do a load of manual tweaking?

Mod enabler works fine with this. I used it last night and had no issues.

Apparently something is going on with it and he is looking into correcting the issue. Best just to wait.

Haven't had time to test, so don't know if it means anything, but I noticed that folders "Environment_Mod_v1_LBO8\Data" and "Environment_Mod_v1_LBO9\Data" each contain a "Copy of Scene.dat"... remembering it's known to cause "trouble".

And don't have time to play until tomorrow!

But d*mn! SH IV is gonna look even more... amazing... fantastic... stunning...

Default I don't know if it was part of the problem or not

But I think some of the issue was the moon's size vs the sun as I beleve he edited them by taking the scene file apart and changed the size instead of adjusting it using the tweeker program. What I did to solve that was use my original LBO mod scene file and it put the sun and moon back into perspective. Butdiduse Kriller's moon file from his mod because I liked the white moon better.

I think what he was trying to acheive was make the sun and moon get smaller as they got higher in the sky and lost the compair to ground object perspective as it gets higher up but if you evenly adjust the sun and moon in all the sky file drop downs you can achive it much easier that way rather than trying to resize the objects.

I am just speculating here but it seems to me that was part of the problem.

The Sky boxes rule too!
The reflexion issue wasn 't a big problem. I fixed it with the minitweaker that I've used on his scene.dat.
If you like you can do it as well until Seeadler comes with the new version.

Apply those 4 values on the scene.dat:

Although this get rid of the reflection problem, it also creates a strange looking reflection on the water in the distance (ca 4km from the sub).

I played with scene.dat myself, but coult not fix it.
Anybody found a fix yet ? Do other people have this same problem ?
I have this same problem also with the scene.dat from TM1.6.

The only way to fix it is putting the 4 data back to 0 in enviroment in minitweaker.
Than it's nice and smooth (only with weird reflections on conning tower)

It's the white reflections a few km from the boat

..so does it mean that using your original scene.dat...all will be fine..
..i recognized too that sun and moon were too small with my cameras.dat settings (51 degrees angular angle on bridge, or dummy_cam_conning_deck, which looked just right for me).....i also had tweaked sun radius to 2300 and moon radius to 1800 in scene.dat (there was a thread according real size of sun and moon)... with those settings i had RL sized moon and sun....only thing is that ZMax( the horizon) must be more than 2300 with those settings in scene.dat, or you will not see the sun......

Default jaketoox

the only problem with making the sun and moon actual real life size is that the earth circumfrance in the game is smaller than actual size as well so if you do what you said it changes the way the sun and moon interatc with the sky and time od days and nights.

BTW sorry for my spelling today having an off day mind wise today

Default FooFighters and everyone else

My first sugestion is to use the scene.dat file from LBO and not the one from the Environment Mod right now.

Some of the values you can change using the mini tweeker can cut into the the reflections values if you go to far with the limits and or number of digits. I think some where along the line Seeadler did this in his adjustments and it became a permenant part of the file. I have made this mistake before and had to start with a new scene file altogether when I was looking at the reflections for LBO.

That is why when Seeadler said he was doing it I just droped my end of the project and put everything back to normal.

So that is my best sugestion for now guys!!!
