I tried to plead our case to no avail. They didn't grasp the reasoning for a test dive while in port. We certainly didn't want to try it in deep water, that's for sure!

Maybe, just maybe they wanted us to do the test dive in deep water so they could get rid of us and call it an 'accident'.
