Politically correct idiocy. There is no merit and no achievement and no success in being gay, it solves no global problem and is of no benefit or concern to the world. It simply is unimportant. Why to be proud of being gay, escapes me. It's as if I were proud to have eyes that need glasses, or somebody else being proud to have blond hair. "Gay pride" is no doubt one of the most stupid and pointless slogans I have ever heard.
Possibly it was just a calculated publicity coup to bring the apple logo back into the news. And you, Mr. Cook - better be proud of for example your job achievements or business success, if you feel like it. Because different to your skin colour or sexual orientation, actively achieving something is something that you indeed sometimes can be proud of and claim credit for. But no athlete ever has won a gold medal for having this or that shoe size or having green eyes - but for having trained hard and then winning the final competition. That's what the applause rewarded - his shoe size was not asked for, never.
