Hi Cybermat47

There's this basic tutorial redacted by Rongel a while back, but I would suggest you to go through the whole thread, since it got many scattered information.

Another good source of experience is opening inported unit's files in Silent 3Ditor (often shortened as s3d on this forum) and comparing them with either SHIV or stock SH5 units. By the way, s3d is the main tool you will be using for inporting ships.

Once you get accustomed with the basics of the importing process, you might want to go a step forward, replacing some of the old controllers for various FX around the ship with SH5 ones. But for doing it you will need another tool, called goblin editor. My suggestion is not to bother with those aspects right now.

At the very beginning the learning curve can be step , but don't give up: the more you learn, the easier will be understanding the rest.
