Phhh, children!

There was a Third Doctor story arc back in 1970-something with the same thing. The Doctor had to destroy the giant squid-thingy that made it happen.

When you have been on the air for 40 years you tend to recycle plots. Just look at Star Trek.

I think that is great. Now the government can collect taxes from him and his spouse. More money for the government.

I don't know if China has the "marriage penalty" in their tax code.
