We only have the type IXC.
It was built for SH4 but never released.
No one has a copy of any of the other subs Ref built
that I am aware of.

I've searched through every storage device I have.
But I can't find them.

BBW has put the IIA in Game as an AI U-Boat.
The scopes need lowered yet.

I'd say it could be made playable with a bit of work.

The IXC needs alot of work to get it up to standard for SH5.
Export of all parts from the dats,
Finish work on some parts,
Re-scaleing,
Placement of parts and helpers in 3D Max,
etc.

Then it would be ready for import and whatever work needs done for
interiors, crew, etc.

Some of the stuff needing done is out of my area.
Like UPCGE

OK, so its not just doing the 3D model and copy the interior of the VII - understood Never done modding, so dont know the extend of work needed.

I don't think the interior and exterior are completely separate as they were in SH3. I had a camera problem where my camera came "unattached" while I was in the command room. I floated through the sleeping quarters, galley, motor room, elec room and out the back of the boat! Watched it sail away as I hung there in the water. In SH3 when you went "out of bounds" it was just black space. In SH5 it seems it's "real"?

It's not called TypeVII.com, it's Subsim.com

Wouldn't Tomi_99 be a good candidate for doing the interior?

I wish I understood how all this worked because I sometimes get a 'Camera out of Sectors' black screen when in the presence of an iceberg. What 'sectors' is the camera out of exactly? Maybe we are being given a glimpse at another dimension

The Hull part of the Subs are one GR2 file,
The rooms are in seperate GR2 files located in the Common\Rooms folder.

Those are all linked through the eqp file and the UPCGE file and such.
(I'm not a UPCGE guy so correct me if I'm wrong here.)

So it's possible to link the type VII stuff to a new type IX hull.

SH3 did not have seperate rooms so the Cam stuff works differently.
That's also an older Engine.
Not a good comparison in this situation.

How?

We need somebody to do the exterior 3D models...thats the hardest part as we can get the 3D models converted to work with game.
The interior is probably a big piece of work, but maybe the VII interior will OK for now?

Comments?
Im looking for that too.. also every other Sub in Sh3.

To model the exteriors is easy.. the interiors are the hardest part.. but they arent important gameplay wise ,i dont mind using the same VII interiors for every other sub . .Adding more 3d Subs models with higher quality textures and their extra capabilities will really take the game to a new level.

If you dig around in the files in SH5, you can find a lot IX D2 files. I don't know if they would be helpful at all though.

Models from previous versions wil need a retexturization though since the new engine can support more "wood" into it.

Yes it´s true .

we can use without problems the VII interior , also except in some details interiors were very similar between the different types of submarines

The Type II model is in the program.
You still need to make it playable, add interior and script it so it doesn't have you patrol 5,000 miles away

Personally I think the XXI based off of the XVIII would be awesome. As with the IX-D2, the XVIII/XXI is also in the SH4 u-boat expansion and could be copied over with the aforementioned retexturing.

On a related note, does anyone know if schnorkels can be implemented?
