I've started work on another tool (that, or it will be integrated functionality of S3D, I have not yet decided), that allows you to edit the interface of the game. Please note that it is REALLY early in development and will not see the light until at least a few months, but when it does, it will be a nice addition to the modders toolkit
![]() Goal is to make all objects selectable (by mouse), or from a treeview, implement layers that you can enable/disable/hide/show for easy selection etc... Benefits are you can manipulate all available properties (size, position, text, colors, tooltips, images, etc), without the need to fire up the game to see the changes (well, mostly anyway). I'll give you a few very early screenshots with some very basic renders: Gameplay settings: http://sh4.skwas.net/menu/menuedit1.gif Torpedo management: http://sh4.skwas.net/menu/menuedit2.gif Main game UI (slightly incorrect render though): http://sh4.skwas.net/menu/menuedit3.gif Also, for those that are today manually editting the menu.ini file, I've compiled a structured Excel file that contains all the UI pages, the elements and their id's. This will give you a rough overview of what all the game 'pages' are, and how objects are related to eachother. Should help manual changes a bit I guess... Download UI structure If anyone has ideas, please discuss ![]() Also, if anyone wants to collaborate with me (in .NET 2) - to reduce my workload (S3D!), PM me... ![]()
