JPG Size?

Hi Mates,

I'm asking for info here!

When I copy links to JPG files etc, from Filefront, Photobucket, etc., they appear as 1024 X 780 size. But most other posts include JPGs that are "thumbnail size" and useless to me as I can not make out any details. The "thumbnail size" is not clickable at all.

Am I missing something or is there a setting that I have to change? :hmm:

I'm not sure. When others post thumbnails (usually from ImageShack) I have no problem clicking on them to get the link. It shows up in a separate window.

Unless I misunderstood what you meant.

You got it right....but I'm not sure what settings have to be changed or where.

Is it a setting in the "Subsim" forum?

Any help would be appreciated.

SOLVED!!!

I found the culprit......It was ME!!

About 2 yrs ago, I had changed the "Edit Options" and forgot about it.

I had un-checked the box;
Show Images (including attached images and images in [IMG] code)

I have re-checked it and all is well.

As the Kapitan of my Sub, I am ordering myself to "walk the Plank".....but "Oh No"
the crew says there are no planks aboard.......at a later time.

The thumbnail links you see on the forum are from images stored on ImageShack. ImageShack will generate the text you need to paste into your forum posts to create these thumbnail links. I don't believe Photobucket or FileFront will automatically do this. You could probably create the thumbnail links yourself (at least from Photobucket) by copying the links to the thumbnails on your image page and using that link and the direct link to the full size image with URL and IMG tags wrapped around them, but it would be a pain in the posterior.

Once again, I type (and think) too slowly:rotfl:I also think I misunderstood the question

It's a nested BB code tag set. When you host a picture on Imageshack or similar, they create two different pictures, the full sized version and a thumbnail image. The code they give you has the IMG tags linking to the thumbnail, but also include a URL link to the full image. At Imageshack, you can just copy & paste the code they give you. The format is the URL tags on the outside with the IMG tags on the inside, and clicking the thumbnail takes you to the full size image.

This is the perfect problem solving thread Joe asks a question, he gets asked one in return (for a starting point to the original question), a couple of us give him the answer to an entirely different question and he discovers the answer to the original question himself:rotfl:

This needs to be a sticky

Love it DT.

I had the answer BEFORE I asked the question, then when I solved it myself, I would feel better :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Note: JUST TESTING THE "WATERS"

Photobucket has this option as well.
Example: Click on this thumbnail then click on the image that pops up for full size.

LOL, probably.

You just check the box under one of your images then go to the bottom of the page and click on "generate tags". You end up with half a dozen tags for the most common uses.
