A: Reported Bugs A1) Crewmen appear flat, 2D; chanting numbers endlessly; you are using a No CD crack or illegal version of the game. Do not post. Like "rudder rudder" when setting rudder amidships and torpedo explosions. A3) Time/clock problems. All, please take a second and read the Subsim memo here. We want to take all that energy most forums expend in whining and convert it into productive and focused criticism. For the devs: I've noticed that the sound settings and video resolution settings always reset themselves - i.e., every time I start back up I have to go in and turn off the music and set the video back up to the higher resolution I prefer.

Salvo's like SH3 are gone it seems.
You just fire 1 torp after another. And you can't seem to open multiple tubes. So you try and do a quick salvo by firing individual tubes. Open Tube fire.Open Tube Fire'Open Tub.......etc Unless i'm doing something wrong?? I could'nt get the sonar to work. I can't listen to or control the hydrophones. Every button apart from the active ping does nothing. The manual is poor on the sonar. Maybe 50 words . Also i'll be in a friendly harbour in the tutorials and dive to periscope death and ask my sonarman to report contacts and he can't hear anything though outside i see lots of traffic. In fact he can't hear anything period? Unless i'm doing something wrong. I can't get the radar to even turn on apart fron the anti aircraft and deck gun tutorials. Again the manual is poor on this. I can't get the periscopes to stop going up or down using the command bar at the bottom of the screen. It has to go all the way up or down with no brakes which means when it;s going up it can be sticking several feet out of the water and you don't want that. Using the page up/down keys is no problem though. If i'm doing anything wrong apologies. |

- Pretty nasty clipping code issues - You can sail through many objects of a decidedly terrestrial nature. Not sure if it classes as a bug but the sea bed rocks (and the sea bed itself) don't cause you to run aground)
- Crewmen often become translucent - Seriously bodgy damage model, I put two torps direct hits into the bow of a fubuki (explosions and all) and then he turns and gets the third in the rear in between the shafts, got to be one of the best kills i've ever made, but it didn't do a thing to him. Next salvo, two fish from my rear tubes hit amidships in the anti-torp bulges, kill and sink a full size carrier. Go figure... - Self damage model, I had a string of DC's go off literally next to me, about three feet from both sides of the sub and no damage. - While I seemed to have a more functional sonar/radar suite than most, getting it to work was spotty at best. - The graphics don't seem anything like whats in the screenshots, and thats on ubi's top of the line alienware test rig, and there weren't the options one would expect for them. - Just a minor one, but a lot of the text will refer to ''You're U-Boat'' ![]() - Another minor one, not really a bug, but some of the ship and aircraft lists are... odd, lancasters for the USN/AAF and RAAF (none served in the PTO), and some weird ship lists, ie tribals for the RN (again, none in the PTO) but none for the RAN (did serve in the PTO That said, some goodies are in there and its on the whole as good as SH1 was. - Again not sure if its a bug, but there was a strong lack of audio voice overs, only the dive and submerge and contact spotted commands seemed to be verbal, everything was simply written on screen. I assume people can put their own audio files to the text tags however. In a similar vein, the radio/grammophone only played the SH4 theme music with a scratchy sound to it like on an old player, I assume they expect us to provide the music (note I didn't play a final build)

I tried a quick mission (same sub type) and it happened. I'll play with a different sub or career to see if its still apparent. Edit:- Just tried "S" type and quick mission, still does it. The dial spins altering range as the image is moved but the second left click crashes the game out entirely. Edit 2:- Does it to me as porpoise class in career too. Looks like i have the bug everywhere. That bug combined with the speed estimate not working im finding very irritating at the moment. Last edited by gnirtS; 03-19-07 at 09:25 PM. |

I don't know if this is a bug, but where is that hull integrity indicator?? I had 3 big holes in the sub (viewed from the external view) but at the damage control it showed everything ok...

I have had a funny problem. I upgraded my deck gun on my gar class submarine on my second mission, and now it seems that there are is no station there. My men can not man it, so whenever I want to use it I must use it myself, so it works fine, but the crew just ignores it, theres no open slots. Pretty weird.

![]() You CANNOT set the "realism" settings for a campaign to "custom" You can only use the preset "easy, medium, hard & realistic". These preset options suck and turn things on / off in a manor that few users on this forum would find appropriate for their playing. For instance you can't have external cam but auto targetting. VERY bad hiccup there.... |

Not exactly bugs, yet annoying
1. Not enough fuel to complete even first task of 1st patrol, infiltrate agent to Honshu. Departure from PH, refit at MI, still consumed more then half of gas at Jap coast. Any boat. No way to go to Manila after, coz it got captured. 2. Aircrafts dont have MGs/cannons 3. No in-game technical data on anything, even on US subs to choose. No test depth, max range surfaced/submerged, etc. Nothing, even the numbers of tubes, just models in museum. |

Good call.... can't verify if I overlooked that or not.
I just know that when starting a campaign you have to choose that difficulty level, and it is tied to your realism settings elsewhere. I went back to do a single mission and beacuse I chose "realistic" when I did my campaign, it was no longer set to "custom" for single mission. Either way it is kinda annoying |
