Hey guys quick question....

What is the "Best" software to open and Edit .dat files......
I tried "notepad"....didn't work. I have Windows 7 (Home Version)....
Any help is much appreciated.......

two options, I prefer the second link myself. It's a awesome little utility that is very well laid out especially created for SHIII, it unpacks all the Dat files contained within SHIII and creates it's own folder to store them in.

Yes, SquareSteelBar is right ... now the best program is S3D (i don't speak about HexEditor )...
I think S3D works in Win7 ... look:

Use S3D - "Silent3Ditor" mate. This is the best program at this time if You know nothing about hex editing. It has many usefull options
