Don,
try going into the game, look at the nav map, then resave. Sometimes there is no waypoint in the file but this seems to fix it. Yep, a 2m-440 Icom. Haven't been on too much lately, and like to work cw at our club field day. By the way, got 12.4" of that white stuff Friday. 13" more and we'll break the all time high season total. (96" so far). Now for the meltoff. ![]() Mike |

Got my start with cw in Navy...finished in Army...had many real time field days there lol.
with all this talk of melt off coming, Realnav will sure come in handy, heh? Just now got it working...I removed that "(x86)" from behind "c:\program file" in his directory...now it's working FB. ![]() cheers,

Say, Mike, you'd be really surprised at how many repeater systems you can open up at altitude from a C-130 lol...hi hi hi
Later, long-haired messcook has chow on...

woohoo, hc, nice job!
I got this thing jumpin' all over the ocean by changing your added params. Yep, the Wx will definitely toss your lil boat around. By adding large changes I was able to make a 40nm difference from my real position, which could happen during those terrible storms. (I made a 3 digit wind speed---wow!) Since I began my current patrol; however, the wx's been very tame. (Beaufort 1) agn, good job ![]()

![]() question: do the smaller randomization 'errors' introduced at lower sea-states/boat speeds seem equally reasonable? ie does the randomization scaling produce valid results of 'fuzziness' across the range? cheers hc

as you've doubtless noted, the base incremental value used for the randomization (to be applied +- to the decimal longitude&latitude values) is .0083125 (ie 29.9262 arcsecond)... so, if you're so inclined, you might try adjusting this value to yield different results (up or down the range scale, as you see fit). 'looking forward to your findings! cheers hc

Here you go, hc. Here's a pic of my current position using your changes. The wx at my location is extremely balmy and my SOG is 6 knots. My real position without any changes is approx 1nm west of the fix on my plot chart. I'm very satisfied with that.
I've still got a ways to go but I'm headed for Singapore to patrol her shipping lanes. ![]()

I am watching this thread with interest and I admire your great work.I have a problem and maybe someone of you can help me.Although I use the Mike's script(thank you,Mike),when I open Stellarium the location is Paris and the date and time are the current ones. How can I "persuade" Stellarium to start at sub's location? Thank you!

ie, under #write startup script ==> stella=open("C:\\Program Files\\Stellarium\\scripts\\startup.sts",'w') (or whatever your install location is?)

I know this is a bit off track from the current discussion but considering the thread title....
Does anyone know of a mod that removes the sub's silhouette on the nav map while submerged? OR a mod that you can turn it on and off? There are times when nothing's going on during a patrol and I could use that time to teach myself how to use 'dead reckoning', but with the silhouette there it just seems kinda pointless....
