here's a new US_shells.dds bitmap to replace the stock one ==> http://rapidshare.com/files/97770130/US_shells.dds.html
i was browsing through my 1940 copy of the bluejacket manual, came across a nice color [!] illustration of the various naval ordnance designation markings, and realized that the stock image(s) is/are pretty inaccurate... so hopefully this will remedy the situation somewhat. NB that: - AP has a black projectile body with yellow tip - HE has a grey (slate) projectile body with yellow and grey (slate) tip - illuminating "starshells" have a blue projectile body with a white star emblem ( )make sure to back-up your original in case you want to revert. preview ==> ![]() also, here's a 20mm version by Nauticalwolf ==> http://files.filefront.com/US+shells.../fileinfo.html and preview: ![]() cheers hc

castorp345, love your work
If you don't mind; because I tend to use more 20mm than 40mm (early war), I have made one small change to your mod based on the following info. ![]() Actual photo of ww2 USN 20mm rounds and ww2 - 20mm Identification Chart I've adjusted your work a little so that I now have a version that looks more like this: ![]() Sorry about the low res screenie - it does look much better "in game". If you want this as an alternative version to your mod I put a copy here: http://files.filefront.com/US+shells.../fileinfo.html
