If I'm not going to check the hydrophones personally every hour or two, I set as large TC, as possible when sumbmerged and travelling. Usually I do this at heavy storms that make cruising surfaced impossible, than I travel on surface on day, submerge for nights. I still get my contacts.

Frankly i have noticed no difference in picking up hydrophone contacts at any Time Compression value.
regardless of the TC used i always seem to find more than my fair share of targets ![]()

I always travel between 1024 and 2048 TC submerged and 128 surfaced. I also think that a high TC doesn't affect Hydro contacts but I can be wrong of course..

I operate at 128 TC. Hydro contacts seem ok. At higher tc/s it may hurt if your target is moving fast, you will pick it up later. Relative minor detail, but . . .

thanks all,
i too operate at 128 tc, and wondered if this would adversley affect the pick up rate - it's sometimes a difficult game to play when i dont have alot of time to spare to play it - and it is after all, for me anyway, a game of time and patience.... cheers

128 max.....remember, the higher the tc, the further the target will have travelled in your SH3 world after it has been rendered by the game (8km or 16km....depending on mod used)
