okay I know this is a big subject but HELP!?
I have been trying to read and understand all the stuff people have been doing on the SJ and SD Radar I even downloaded what i think is the latest MOD for it but since Patch 1.2 I have never been able to pick up any planes what so ever and still having a problem picking up ships around certain areas of the boat.
Granted I have never been hit by a Plane bomb because of quick increase in speed and changing corse at the last second but it would be nice to have some advanced notice so I could dive ahead of time for safty if there are more than 2 planes. I am not the greatest in tech stuff when it comes to mods and what not the Mod I am running now is Sensors Sub us.sim. I think there is one newer than what I have but when I try the link out it dosn't bring me to the download just the main page and I can't find the download. Thanks: Dave |

![]() Don't know if it is exactly what you may want, but i suggest to take a look at this mod thread, by Ducimus : http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=113418 There is a fix for the radar, and i find it a very good compromise. Before this mod, the radar behavior was a mistery for me .. Now with it, i can turn it off when i want, and it seems to work good. Also, don't forget to reactivate it when surface the boat, cause it stay off ( annoying thing, for me). There are also some very good other things in this mod, it's up to you to keep all the stuff, or take only what you like. It is well documented. Big thanks to all the moders here ![]() |

There is NO radar solution right now. Ducimus' (and team) work around mod is a good alternative until the DEVs fix this problem.

Okay what is the work around Mod because the one I have just isn't cutting it too iffy on when you might get a contact around what angle on the boat! I don't care that both the Sj and SD Radars pick up everything just want it to work LOL!
The boat just dives to slow to hide on the spot most planes turn around and come back before I am under. But the time is reduced some what since my crew has gained more experience. Went from 1.5 minutes to 1 minute in dives. BY the way I have had to restart my Carier at least 8 times until the 1.2 patch came out but now with this one my crew dosn't seem to be gaining any Abilities like they use to and I am on my 10th Patrol. Started it at the earlyest date now it is Feb 14th 1943 and still no Abilities on this Carier?! Is there a rime or reason to this does anyone know? Did 1.2 change this at all? Thanks Guys :p Dave Oh P.S. I kind of like the mods I have running now no offence to anyone please so would rather not do some large mod pack and just on individual ones like the Silent service intros and what not / Realistic Battery Life / Thermalizer / Darker Background for Recognition Manual / Battle stations & Silent Running on all HUD stations / jimimadrid's HUD / Stealthy Sub Project 1.02a and so forth nice to be able to pick a chose the things you like and don't like! Most of the game play and configs of stuff is great for me just run what I need to make is enjoyable. I do play almost 13 hours a day. THANKS to all the MOD guys and all the help you have given me as well!!! |

Well, Ducimus' Mod disables the SD-Radar and makes the SJ-Radar detect planes as well as surface objects. Simple and excellent!

is there any mod that enables both the sd and sj radar like they use to be before patch 1.2? Or maybe a little better so they pick everything up around the boat?
