I copy just the music files I want and paste them into a folder in My Document which I named the folder Use Music. Then I use Audicity to change the ogg files to waves. I use Gold Wave to change them to mp3 files so I can insert the, into Ulead movie editor where I make my movies.

Under sound/music you will see about 30 ogg files with names. Those are the ones I used.

I suppose it's the clarity water your problem.
To have a water so clear I use SH3Commander and it permit to choose the clarity. It's selected on the most clear water as possible.
Also I use the Thomsen Water V4.

In my opinion, FRAPS(full version) is the better way to capture in game, just make the right setup depending your screen resolution in game: for 1024x768 use 35 fps and "full size" recording.
But the bad quality outgoing in the final release comes everytime from the encodage of your work.


More possibilities to well encode in Vegas 9.0 by Sony.
Try it is a must.
For exemple you can choose all details for your encodage.

Hi Chisum, yeah the mods are not only compatible with GWX 3.0 but require GWX 3.0.

I use OLC Gold and ACM reloaded together for the UI, TDC. I also use ACM Lite Map which is not shown in the video but is important as it brings back the u-boat position icon on the map which is otherwise removed by ACM. Some people might like it gone, but I can't plot or navigate without it :D.

Judging from the sinking a torpedo must have hit on port-side forward section. Thxs for the vid.

She was actually hit by 2 torpedoes, 20m apart. One as you say, port-side forward section and one port-side midships. Narrow spread so they hit almost simultaneously.

My Windows Movie Maker is a part of Windows XP. Yes I know, it's an old computer, 8 years old ! I suppose that you have the same soft on Windows 7 and I'm sure you can use it to begin. Short, long, well. My longer video is around 10'. Our friend has made over an hour... Depending your free time and what do you want made. If it's just to show 3' of an attack, without special effects, WMM is enought. You can work fine whit this soft and also add(or not) your own music and many things else. PS: I must tell you all that I can NOT playing anymore SH3 due computer to tired...Time to buy another one.

Guys, i am only the messenger, not the author.

I assume he uses FRAPS for the recording, which cuts every 2 minutes in a 4 GByte software piece or lower (depends on the quality, you want).
So Win XP can handle this. But you need a very big hard drive.
70 minutes movie = 35 * 4 GB = 140 GB.
The movie-software then compresses the 140 GB into - maybe - a 8 GB movie which you have to upload to YOUTUBE. Thats my guess.

It is also an important point to consider. Oh, I forget to tell you one thing. To recording I use BANDICAM 1.7.5.166 and it works fine with many options more than FRAPS, the one I used before.

So, I thought for a long time on the scenario... what's done is done :)
not sure if you see something "in the storm", but I worked as much as possible with the filters, the work is ready in any case.
Story :
U-boat moves to the ger. supply-ship / to refuel ; rearmament (refit). 17 hours later the weather changed dramatically (heavy storm + night), both crews almost complete and is only a couple of minutes to end supply. From the west moving two British cruisers - relying on their radar and searchlights, the british found german ship. Merchant gives his life for a small boat, in the hope that it will not be detected due to its big/large hull, german submarine manages to dive (while the g.ship is sinking) and in the fierce rage revenge for their killed mates.

Don't worry, that's just for testing. The B17 didn't carry any bombs ! :haha: And a real sub doesn't sail at 80 knots ! :har:

I wanted to show the mechanism of a destroyed engine and a "dynamic" propeller. That's a total new concept in SH3. And this can be applied to all kind of airplanes ! :D Also note that this bomber is destroyed when at least 2 engines are destroyed.

About the pilot being killed, I have seriously though about that question. I think it's possible. Will try to do that. Also possible to kill the gunners. With a proper link, if the gunner is killed, then the gun is destroyed too. :) And why not also spawn dead dummies with blood on the body ?

What I really meant is that I would have to be extremely skilled (or lucky...) to hit 2 propellers at a safe distance.

But if this model is applied to allied fighters targeting bombers, it could be nice.

Sadely, it was not possible to use the deckgun, only torpedoes.

At the beginning, I passed too close a freighter and there was a collision on the back of the submarine.
Quickly repaired.
Only one miss, the rest hit the target.
Only one ship has refuse to sink.

I noticed an incredible fact, first time since I play: a lot of ship has changing their route to try to sunk me !

Does anyone know wheter or not there are still copyright claims on those old uboat songs (U-Boot-Lied 1 und 2, Lied vom deutsche U-Boot-Mann etc)? I'm asking because I'd like to make a Silent-Hunter Let's Play and I don't know if i could use parts of said old songs in my videos without getting in trouble with youtube due to copyright issues.

I prefer magui become I have custom version but also because arb let you have too much definition in the scope. Determine the type of ship simple be fine. If you came define between 3 different ships from mfm at 2000m the resolution is fine. Also depend of you monitor seize. On a 23` magic is fine.

That's other explanation for convoys with damaged ships,a few convoys in rdn have a aisub, is likely it stack the formation before you get it rendered, before far I remember damaged ships usually are in the flanks.

I am astounded at how the water looks in most of these videos. Do specific effects mods make water look that realistic? I'm playing with GWX and it looks great but not as good lol.
