my video ist pretty short. i shot it a few days ago. two torpedoboats attacked me and i decided to defend with my flakcannon. this video shows how the boat looses burning fuel, i captured it, cause i´ve never seen that before :D
the video is only a few seconds, the second torpedoboat had to correct its course to avoid driving through the flames, sorry i didn´t capture that :cry:

Thank you robj250 and stabiz for the positive Feedback. Glad you liked it! I use Adobe Premiere Pro. The shake-effect ist hand made, but its quite simple: a melange of horizontal and vertical movement and some rotation.

It would be too hard doing manual calculations in the middle of the convoy.Those DD's sure screw the target ranging up + every ship goes in separate directions! Since we dont have the time nor the place to run and hide & wait for night to fall, we have to do it this way. And its fun, believe me mate! :up:

Thanks for the repies guys. To hear you say that a part of my vid was great is fantastic. As for the end i was sinking like a stone and was despertly trying to rasie the boat then i took major damage to the stern and ended up pointing to the sky. :oops: I did try to man the deck gun but as soon as i breached surface it was all over.
I see what you mean about long shots mate il remember that one for future vids.

I didn't put in any music this time, mainly because I have difficulty deciding what to use.

I always seen to get a cracking sound now and then in my movies (using Windows Movie Maker) and I have no idea why.

Well, using the tactics that the guys suggested, I got out of that mess, but after midnight, when I thought it was safe, I surfaced and guess what. Yep. I'm into another mess. I guess I surfaced too soon. The River Destroyer Escorts from that convoy detected me and are coming after me. Damn.

The last part (part 4) is done and uploaded to YouTube. It was a rather boaring end but I did sink another ship which left me with 2 stern torpedoes so I returned to base. I ran into stormy weather, which I had not had for a few missions, which was different. The stormy weather came AFTER I had sunk the last merchant.

Yep. I have already started my next patrol with U-245. I'm gonna shoot them darn planes out of the skies with my qualified flak gunners and sunk them ships my expert crew who have served me well in all my adventures.

One thing that mistifies me is when I tested it this morning, I was in a sub pen, but when I started the mission this afternoon, there was no sub pen???

Yes. But I kinda screw up part 4, I think it was a little too loud and for some reason, there was a "lag" in one of the torpedo explosions.

But I love them bow shots, :rotfl: :rotfl: No matter which way the DD turns, it's gonna get hit. HEHE.

Man, I hadn't even got out of the grid and all kinds of aircraft came in attacking. We managed to down 3 of them, but the others were just too much after I had a man killed, so I dove to 100 metres.

Thanks for the kind words guys, I do feel I'm getting better at it. I have to connect with the music, after that it seems to come fairly easy.

I'm also kind of torn sometimes because I like to play without using the external cam (when there's destroyers about anyway) but obviously if filming, I can't really do that. Does anyone else have this problem?

he copied my "Crack of dawn" video too, but I don't have the impression that he is declaring our work as his work. I think he simply wants to put up some movies at his sh3 mod page (www.silent-hunter3-modzone.de). I mailed him and he put a link to my movie page under my vid. Maybe you should write him too (he's called Fischii at his forum).

As you already said to be copied is a great compliment. Therefore try to look upon it favorably, your work gets spread (around the world). :up:

I have just finished part 7, which shows the beginning of the convoy approach. However, that took over half the length of the strip in Movie Maker and I'm not sure I would be able to fit the attack in it as well, so I intend to do the actual attack on the convoy as part 8.

Hmm, I had something else I wanted to say, but I forgot. Stupid me. :damn:

Additional:
I remember what it was now. My list of music I have and will use for the entire 8 parts is extensive and I don't know if Windows Movie Maker will be able to list them all.
