Here's the stock seafloor from Tuddy3's filefront page
http://files.filefront.com/Stock+Sea+Floor+Modzip/;5972414;/fileinfo.html
Here's the link to the filefront site hosting racerboys (current effects beta)
http://hosted.filefront.com/TazmanianDevilR/
Remember that is a beta but use JSGME so if you don't like it just uninstall it.
The sync option won't affect your fps, I think it has something to do with the event cam if you use it.

Thanks again, danurve!
I'm very thankful.
About the synch, yeah, If i remember from long time ago, when I used the event cam, then I think it was larger or the graphics was weaker when not having synch on, in the event cam.

sry, but I dk which of these two files are the right effects. I found a file that has sh4 effects to sh3 (RB_SH4_Effects_for_SH3_1_HA.7z) , but its in alpha stage,
and one other file (GWX_-_TDRs_funnel_smoke.zip )
who of them is it?
Thanks again for your patience!

Yes the sh4-to-3h3 effects mods is being developed as I mentioned. Noting says you need to use it it was just a suggestion that has worked well on my system.
I have no idea what your talking about with that other file or where you got it from.
The stock sea floor mod/link seems to be working fine.

You should not use the GWX-Version. The first file works fine with my (full)version. If you look for a real good smoke mod you could use sobers darker and brown smoke

thank you A6Intruder.
I'm most interested in finding mods which can give me as much fps as possible, and I hope this smoke mod has good graphics and low fps usage as well, and the stock seafloor it is very ok, I wont look at the floor anyway, too damn dark in WAC.:D
Again, do anyone know some mods which can give some more fps?
I'm asking it in this forum because it must work with WAC, the best mod ever!
I noticed another two things today (RL has been interfering LOL) there is an AI type VII C/41 running around at the beginning of the war (Poland) and it seems wrecks are seen by the game as valid contacts and thus you can not use high TC around them.

Keep up the good work:up:

I would not bet on this, well it look quite nice but low fps?? I do not think so. Maybe you should give some boost to your RAM. For 3.0 you should have more than 1 GB specialy for the full version. Recommend ist 2 GB.:yep:

Update: FPS is not a real problem now.
It is around 17-20 FPS in the harbour and almost 60 all the time on the sea. before I changed to stock seafloor and sh4 effects, the fps was 10-15 in harbour and 30-40 on the sea. So I thank you danurve and A6Intruder for your help!
I've got enough FPS for the harbour, really, I cant start to complain on that, I bet there are others out there with lower fps, and higher off course, but 20 is fine for harbour and 60 is very fine on the sea. :)
The only thing I need to upgrade is not the ram, I have 2 gig ram, but the video card (Nvidia 7600gt). Its under the requirement.
btw, I'm getting a little annoyed about the new buttons, to many times I launch a torpedo, sine i'm used to backspace as pause. :P
so I wonder how can you change the buttons to the standard Sh3? I have the vanilla "commands_en" and "commands_de" and if I use these two files and overwrite the current ones, Will I get the standard buttons bakc again?
Thanks again for all your help!:D
Yes if you have your original commands_en and commands_ge cfg files, just copy them over and ta da your back to where you wanna be.

I use MultiSH3 and so In one game folder is nothing but stock files just in case.
I also recomend a small flat screwdriver.

But I have fortunately removed the numpad enter from the fcfg so the buttons is just an useless piece of plastic right now...

I have another question. I hope its okay and I hope its not nagging you guys, but I'm very thankful for your help!
How can you increase the visibility underwater? I want to see my sub and torps undwerwater.
And how can you increase the time the ship contacts and reports stay on the map? right now they get cold and disappear way to fast, how can you make them stay there for a long time, at least as long as standard Sh3?
Answers will be very appreciated!
Thanks for your patience!

Water clarity can be easily adjusted if you use SH3Commander.
Under Options you can make the water near stock value 18-20.

Decay Time For Opportunity Radio Contacts=32400 ;[>0] seconds
Decay Time For Imprecise Sensor Contacts=600 ;[>0] seconds
Decay Time For Precise Sensor Contacts=60

I have two questions about WAC mod:
1. Are Allied destroyers such clairvoyants as in GWX?
2. Are German warships unsinkable for U-boot torpedoes?
Thanks for rapid answers!

Gorshkov; I have been playing all the supermods in a MultiSh3 setting and I can answer some of your questions, err one of them.
Sneeking up near Destroyer escorts in GWX 1.03 is more of a challenge then any other Mod IMO. But it's not impossible. There's a sticky on the main page with like a million posts about this. And some jazz in the mod's manual. I don't know if similar changes will be done in War Ace 3.0
No clue about your second question, so far I have yet to slab a German merchant. Tanked a few Neutrals though.

Thanks, buddy!
I was mostly concerned about Allied escort capabilities. So if there is more realistic ASW enviroment in WAC mod in opposition to screwed-up GWX uber-destroyers, I finally switch to WAC right now.
As for "banned friendly fire" in GWX mod I discovered it is possible to sink German merchants but not warships, however I haven't tested all of them yet.

2. Are there any limitations to use SH3 mission editor with WAC Lite mod?

Primary in Light-Version is less Harbour-Traffic. No limitations of using mission editor. Our Escorts are not so heavy as in GWX. You should give WAC a try and stay tuned for WAC 3.0

Hi there!
1. there ist no uber destroyer AI in WAC like in GWx! Just a bit more difficult but our goal is to have fun in gaming!!
2. all warships and merchants are sinkable like in Sh3 stock.
3. light version only has minor harbour traffic and minor graphical changes (texture resolution, 8km atmosphere, etc.)

Hi Solo!
I am sorry I have been asking here a lot of questions but I haven't found any printable tutorial included in your mod. So if it exists, simply give me a link.
In the meantime I have only one question: What kind of sinking model did you introduce in your mod: stock SH3 critical points oriented model or NYGM based flooding one?
PS. Would you mind giving me any better links to download WAC mod because those found on your website are always busy, broken or shutting down connection during download process.
EDIT: Download problem solved! After some searchings I used Tuddley's FileFront repository which assures uniquely good transfer rate and no waiting time. Tht is why I recommend this resource to all skippers interested in WAC Light version only. Unfortunately your remaining download sites are nightmares at that point...

The biggest problem War Ace has IMO is distribution.
The main site is pop-up city and to be honest that drives me nuts. File Front is good but they delete files after 30 days of inativity. However on Han's d/l page there are links to one other mirror for full and light version, the updates and the hot fix. Those links point to this page http://mysh3.info/sh3downloads.html
Note: "WAC downloads can not be put together with downloaded parts from other mirrors.
Note: This is the complete WAC Mod repackaged as two downloads instead of 3 or 4."
These links/pages will be avaiable for a few more months.

Yes, aside of my insufficient computer specs I wouldn't dare to download WAC FULL version...
Eventually I run WAC Lite mod and I am very satisfied!

"Note to those downloading from my FileFront page"...
You need to download all parts(example, WAC 2.0 and WAC 2.15 parts 1,2, and 3). The reason I bring this up, is I noticed there have been 33 downloads of WAC 2.15 part 1, and 6 downloads of part 2 and 3. So, there are 27 users without parts 2 and 3 of WAC 2.15.
Also, the Terrain Packers create the Kiel and Suez Canals, and Helgoland. So if you want those included, you must download the Repackers.
I also have to appologize for the last few weeks, the WAC downloads were deleted and I was without internet to re-upload them(But they are back up now). Like Danurve says, they get deleted after 30 days of inactivity or whatever their criteria is(I have over 20 other downloads, but they always choose my WAC downloads(Bastards)) Also once WAC 3.0 is released, I will no longer have WAC 2.0 or 2.15 available since they will be obsolete.
Speaking of WAC 3.0, I am very excited, as I have been with all other releases. Hans always does a wonderful job, and I am sure 3.0 will be no exception. Keep it up Hans. Also, I was wondering if SheGeek accepted her offer to make screens, her talent with making sigs is top notch.
I would also like to wish all my WAC friends and happy and safe holiday season, Cheers!!!:()1:

Oh, I also have a request.
I was wondering if someone could make a Longer Ship Wakes mod compatible with WAC. I've tried the one made by Nvdrifter and it doesn't work very good. I guess it was designed for GWX. I'll also post a request in the Workshop, but I thought I'd try here first.

Ok boy's, that's enough, after all it's the holidays, lets behave.
May I offer a suggestion. Go to SilentHunterIII/Data/Sounds, then look for the sounds with "amb" in the title(stands for ambient). You can sample those sounds with WinAmp or Windows Media Player(or whatever you choose). Most likely you are looking for amb_SubmarineInterior. There are some mods around that change it, the one for Grey Wolves is annoying, because someone coughs every 20 seconds or so. Also, if you have not downloaded Hansolo's WAC 2.0 Full Sounds, I highly recommend it(especially if you are a Das Boot fan).

Well, I have already ended my long work to choose the best mods configuration. Here you are what I selected from all your lumber room. My winning mods compilation is as follows:
- WAC Light mod as a baseline (the best supermod for average user)
- Fubar's plain U-boat skin pack (sorry Han but your "light skins" look very ugly...)
- Raceyboy's SH4 effects for SH3 (wonderful graphics however this mod is quite hardware consuming for low end machines but more RAM for me is pending!)
- OLC GUI mod for SH3 1.4b (I think SH3 stock GUI should look like this!)
- Longer wakes for all
- Icons with English labels made by Capitan America
Big thanks to helpful people for advice!:yep:

Currently playing with WAC full 2.15 + OLC and a few texture tweaks to let my old radeon cool down, this gives a great feeling to the game. That's the mod that most fits my idea of what SH3 should be (darkness underwater, repair taking forever, various trafic and so on).
The only downside I found so far is about the ship's damage model, it looks like they can not sink by flooding.
I'm glad to read that a new version is on its way, thanks for your nice work :sunny:
Sorry to interrupt here, but...
OLC GUI works with WAC?
I never tried it. I presume you used 1.1.4 for stock version? Are there any problems at all? If not I'd love to put "Compatible with WAC!" on the OLC GUI thread :D

@ OLC - Yes, OLC GUI works fine with WAC(Although I am talking about the OLC GUI for SH3 1.4b (1.1.4) version). I just didn't like some of the GWX Features, like the dials interface with lack of the 6 Dials Slideout Big Dials, and the Deck Gun only had one option(I forget which, AP or HE, with no Star Shells). Other than the GWX Features, the periscope tools all seemed to work, with no CTD or anything.
If you could make another version with just the Peri Mod part, that would be better IMHO. I would like to try it when WAC 3.0 is released(I can't freakin' wait).

OLC-GUI should work over War Ace, hopefully all the ships will ID.
I like the 3/6 dials from the right side of the screen, the sim-feeling ones from the left I can do without.
There IS a ton of harbour traffic in War Ace, but I think that 16k has something to do with sluggish performance on some machines. Where the light version is still War Ace but less harbout traffic and 8k. Once I dropped the particle density down to 50% and that also helped. But that cuts out more jazz.
I also realy liked the OLC-GUI. Except it cuts a few things out if you use auto targeting and are not into manual targeting.

Yep I also used the 1.1.4 version for the stock SH3, I didn't play WAC a lot these days mostly because of my average rig, but for what I remember it worked just as well as it does with the stock game (works also fine with NYGM btw).
Now even if I had a hard time exiting Kiel in WAC 2.15 (full) due to hardware, I liked the feeling of the mod, now I'm looking forward to this new version
@ Mikhayl - May I suggest installing WAC Light instead. WAC Full is for strong computers. Every version of WAC has Full and Light to choose from.
@ Danurve - As far as ship ID's go, for the ones that don't work, there is a tool that will make all other ships compatible with OLC GUI. It's called "Double Mast Tool".

Well damn, Im not sure how to address that so up front and short;
I don't use manual targeting or any of the Ujagd tools. No patience for it. That's what my phoney officers are for. The olc-gui is very nice but it nearly forces someone away from auto targeting to enjoy it, so this does not help me. Fair enough?
Imo the obs/scope is also very cool but takes away a bit to much as well. And while OLC has indicated it's ok to alter it for your own use I don't have the modding skills for such a task.

The olc-gui [...] nearly forces someone away from auto targeting
Not sure how you worked that out. Just go into realism options and untick "manual targetting" and you're all sorted. :yep:

I recall reading quite a while ago about WAC allowing career starts in August 1939. Is this true?
I ask because I am working on an update to SH3Cmdr and it would be quite easy to expand it to include August 1939.
Of course, only WAC users would be able to select August 1939 because tmk no other mod supports pre-September 1939 starts.

Hi JScones,
not only WAC user will get benefits from such an improvement. LivingSilentHunter3 Version 3.0 (LSH3) will also support a start on August, 01.1939 with a trainig mission in the baltic sea ("Erprobungsstelle" as a new flotilla) and then transfer to the 2.nd flotilla, leaving Wilhelmshaven at the 24./25./26. August 1939 and reach a grid at the "Rockall Banks".
I think it is a very goog idea - as we (LSH3-team) recommend the use of SH3-Commander and - of course - of JSGME.

Consider it done!
If there is anything else that you are aware of that would make SH3Cmdr work more seamlessly with WAC or LSH3, pls let me know.
Thx, i will do so. The new version of LSH3 will be released in march 2008. When it is uploaded, i'll post the link (perhaps we will have an english translation of the handbook at this time).

SH3Cmdr users should notice a nice difference with R2.8 - all September 1939 start date assumptions have been removed, so LSH and WAC players will see greater compatibility.
One request though - I want to add nightclub text to at least cover August. So are there any noteworthy events that occured in August that could be "discussed at the bar"? Rumours?
Hi JScones,
got something for you: the "Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact" (non-aggression-pact between germany and the Sovjet Union "Deutsch-Sowjetischer Nichangriffspakt"). For details see
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Molotov-Ribbentrop_Pact
This was the "Start-Sign" for the invasion of Poland.

Oops, my mistake, the news should be from July. If it were from August, say the Pact referred to above, it would be possible for players to read about it before it actually happened (say after a short 10 day patrol).
Sorry. And I'll stop highjacking this thread - anyone feel free to PM me if you have suggestions.

I have it at Filefront, just click on WAC Downloads above my sig. Download all on that page. After you extract, install 2.0 files first, 2.15 files next, then the hotfix last.
To make installing easier, install with the Generic Mod Enabler(JSGME).If you don't have JSGME yet, here is the link :
http://www.users.on.net/~jscones/software/products.html. Place the Gear icon in your SH3 root folder and run JSGME once, close it, and install all WAC and future mod in the newly created Mods folder(Also located in the root folder).
WAC 2.15 is the latest in the WAC series. I'm sure it will get you excited for the upcoming WAC 3.0 release. If you have any further questions, feel free to ask. Btw, your English is fine

Hi!
Yeah.. first install 2.0 with jsme and 2.15 after that.
What mods can be applied? hm.. depends.. you shoul always chek jsme messages if files are overwritten.
2.15 overwrtites some files of 2.0 so thats ok.. but other mods should not overwrite wac files.

Hello all,
Downloaded and installed via JSGME the WAC 2.15 version over a clean (patched to 1.4) install of SH3. It up starts fine but CTD`s on clicking `start` mission button...together with an error message asking me to send the error to Microsoft. Anyone any ideas what may be wrong?
I noticed there are some extra terrain files in the 2.15 update, with some `repackers`, I did`nt understand what to do with these so I left them alone - (I`m hoping that it is this aspect which is causing the initial problem. If so, could anyone tell me how to correctly use/install these please..).Many thanks.

Pretty sure you need WAC 2.0 before adding 2.15
As for the repackers
Clicj on it to run and point it to
C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\SilentHunterIII\data\Terrain\Data then it should repack the files
Sorry, forgot to mention it, but I did install Wac version 2.0 before putting 2.15 on.

Hello :D
I noticed in another post some where that you have used a lot of Sergbuto's work on AI torpedoes so I was wondering, is there any AI torpedo action in this mod like for example AI planes that attack you with torpedoes? ..... I remember that Serg made a swordfish that could attack with torps. ..... :)
Hi HanSolo78! This is a great supermod!
I'm thinking to switch to WAC because of the blue of sea, it's very impressive and finally I see a deep blue Atlantic! (a part new and beutyful ships, missions ecc, ecc, of course!!)
I have only a question about the AI.. is it hard like GWX?

Do you mean install instead of load? Be a little more specific if you could so we have a better idea of what to help troubleshoot your problem.
If the readme doesn't explain it enough for you, any question you might have should be in this thread somewhere.
If you are having problems loading the campaign, you might not have installed the 3GB patch, or maybe you need to modify Windows to run 4GB(Both of which are mentioned in this thread with instructions).
