Herr Anvar 1061

Each time a save game is restarted, the dial is seen at 12 o'clock with a IIA wedigen.
There aussi a difference depth 10 meters between the two dials.
But i did a first campaign mission without any problem with no save game.

I am doing a second mission with a type VIIB without problem just that there is no trace of torpedo impact on the c2 freighter.
otherwise impossible to make backups with type IIA. Dial problem at 12 o'clock.

- I don t find any recognition manual. Is it normal?
- I cannot turn the Attack Periscope using Mouse and arrows.

GWR already has a resolution of 1920x1080 by default.
Add mods one at a time later if you REALLY HAVE TO.

Anvar, great mod, loaded with no problems and no CTD to date.
I do have one small issue. I like using Magui being the easiest to read TDC and course but I have no steady meter for getting range on target.

Realism- and Gameplay-related hardcode fixes for SH3.EXE
2. Inaccurate range-estimations
Inaccurate range estimations for WatchOfficer (->Nearest visual contact) and WeaponsOfficer (-> Solution to target). No gods-eye firing solutions anymore. Before this mod: "Range: 8932m, Herr Kaleun". Now: "Range: 9000m, Herr Kaleun".

So it's a feature to remove the steady meter completely?
I was never all that great with getting range from it before but it would get me in the ballpark. Inaccurate range is ok, as I said it only got me close before.

I'll have to learn the rings :hmmm: But the meter was a nice option.

Installed following the instructions, takes ages to load, locks my computer so much I cannot type when its loading.

Once it's loaded I can select a mission and it starts to load the mission gets to 100% and just sits there, cannot type anywhere else on the PC either once its in this state.

Any ideas?

May I interject here... & say... that while loading up, much less playing... one should never attempt to do anything else, during that time.

Then, is NOT the time to... multi task... EVER. :nope:

Is bad enough, that Microsoft, flat out refuses to allow their services to be shunted so as to NOT have instances of it popping up notifications completely... & run in the background. Ok, some things... are understandable... up to a point... those that actually, 100% pertain to the computer's ability to run... aka function at all, but beyond that... uhh uhh... :nope:

Of course, there is the alternative to using a system app/program... that shuts out & down, unneeded things from doing that, but then... there is its own self, running in the background unless it is set up by them, to do what is needed to shut down things & then, shut down... itself. Haven't fully explored those apps/programs in depth to be fully cognizant of them, all... in any great detail, though... but am aware that they... exist.

As for the game/sim... Frm what I know... GWR & 1 Alex's GWX SH3 rework, & think Toyo's set up... do tend to take a bit before it loads... so.. waiting for the loading up, does call for the exercising of a major... load of, patiece.. whilst it does so. :yep:

Not really, sh3 has always multitasked well, gwx, wac et al all multitask fine.

I've always played in a window, certainly in MP with no time compression it can be the only way.

Besides, I was waiting for 10min+ for the game to start, do you really think I should wait longer?

Have you not taken time to read through the forums, to see all the posts from others... who have made comments on the fact of their dealing with numerous issues... all caused by multi-tasking... i.e, shelling out from SH3... not to mention of SH3's follow up... SH4.???

Hey, if ya wanna join their chorus of the shoulda, woulda coulda blues... far be it from Me, to dissuade you from that. :hmmm: :shucks:

I can't tell you to wait... or not to wait... that, is all up to you. All I can do, is to inform you... that it has been mentioned by other SH3 players... of having long wait times... & considering that SH3.. is now.. what... coming up on... 17 years, to the date (March 15th, 2005)

then add in heavy modifying it... all adds up to the likelihood, of it taking longer, before it boots up...

And all this, is NOT even touching any nudging, modifying... etc, of settings that may or may NOT have to be done, on all the different computers, to get it to work... at all.

Or, the new things, coming down the pipe as it pertains to computers, themselves... :hmmm:

As grand as SH3 is... there is going to come a time... when that time comes, unfortunately & sadly, it will join other games/sims in the annals of history of what was... before.

I seriously hope that time, is ways off... but, I do know, that it will come... eventually.

Your system has the most effect on loading times.
If you have standard Hard Drives? Swap them to SSD drives. You'd be amazed at the difference!
I run 2 SSD's of 500 Gig each. OS is on C drive. Most other stuff is on E drive. Including my DeskTop files!
I had a 1 terrabyte drive but test proved that was slower! So I did the 2 drives.

My comments Jeff... were in regard to ridley of his posting about the game seeming to lock up & not complete loading... also on their multitasking, whilst running said set up... just to clarify. (See post #803)

Not saying it can't be done 100% of the time. but have noted that doing so, end results in a lot of the issues that have been faced due to doing so... from lag/ctd's... corrupted saves... & so forth.

Some are fortunate that of not having faced issues from multi-tasking... lucky them... just that the best approach is the old adage... an 'ounce' of prevention, is the best remedy...

Your system has the most effect on loading times.
If you have standard Hard Drives? Swap them to SSD drives. You'd be amazed at the difference!
I run 2 SSD's of 500 Gig each. OS is on C drive. Most other stuff is on E drive. Including my DeskTop files!
I had a 1 terrabyte drive but test proved that was slower! So I did the 2 drives.

I have SSD drives, and HDD It is not the drives, the drives would not make SH3 grab all of my resources to the point that I cannot type.

As for waiting for the game/sim to load, knowing that I have seen mentions of up to 12 minutes... by some.. also located within the reams of posts across the spectrum of the SH3 threads section here...

I can't tell you to wait... or not to wait... that, is all up to you. All I can do, is to inform you... that it has been mentioned by other SH3 players... of having long wait times... & considering that SH3.. is now.. what... coming up on... 17 years, to the date (March 15th, 2005)

then add in heavy modifying it... all adds up to the likelihood, of it taking longer, before it boots up...

And all this, is NOT even touching any nudging, modifying... etc, of settings that may or may NOT have to be done, on all the different computers, to get it to work... at all.

Or, the new things, coming down the pipe as it pertains to computers, themselves... :hmmm:

As grand as SH3 is... there is going to come a time... when that time comes, unfortunately & sadly, it will join other games/sims in the annals of history of what was... before.

I seriously hope that time, is ways off... but, I do know, that it will come... eventually.

No two computers are alike, and I only have one of four that shell-out to windows without too much grief. Generally though, the troubles with the other three are just graphic or audio issues in the game itself. When the game is trying to load though, it does indeed take all available resources of your system, since it knows no better. Your problem does not sound like that though. Firstly, you supplied minimal detail of your situation with the game or the computer. It's not until in the fourth post that you state you are a long-time player. But still nothing about what you did for the SH3 install or mod activation. Folks have to assume the basics when there is no information to go by for accurate help.

My questions (again, basic) would be have you activated the 4Gig Patch (if necessary) on the SH3.exe? Did you empty the Save folder, or use MultiSH3 to create a new Save folder? If you have done those, then I am out of ideas, unless you would happen to post your mod list, if it is more than just GWR2020.

I have tried GWR several times over the years and I have NEVER been able to get it to work. And right now I have Onealex, WAC and LSH running fine on my computer. So I am at a complete loss as to why Anvar's mod works for some and not for others. It's strange though.

However, what could be read worldwide, also in Russian media about fascism in Ukraine, is not more important than fascism and nationalism here in Germany, France, Sweden, Denmark, Hungary, Netherlands, USA or that in Russia too. I've spent the past few week trying out several other major mods. So GWR22 was next on my list. It seems to play fine except for just one issue I've come across. If this has been covered before, sorry, but I have done a quick search, with no luck.
One of the first things I do as soon as I shove off, is send a Patrol Report. Only on my first Message received, I get a "Severe Damages, Return to base". After that It's all good. Below is my mods list ..... Thanx

I've just started a new career from 1st Flotilla-Keil with a TYPE IIA. (August 1, 1939 @ 18:38) Instead of sending a "Patrol Report" as soon as I leave the pier, I'm going to wait about 2 or 3 hours before sending my first "Patrol Report" and see what happens. If I still get the "Return to Base" message, I'll reinstall GWR22 and add 1 mod at a time and test each.

Hope this helps and I'll keep you posted. Like I said It's ONLY does this once, then works normally. Not really a deal breaker.

I removed both the JSGME Mods, "Ships_SH5_WoW" and the "Reduced Merchant Ship Crew Visuals". All works 100%. I don't understand the deeper working of SHIII, so I don't know why I would have message issues with these mods. Removing them fixed my issue. I probably had something messed up there. So I'm good here.

Secondly, no matter what EMBLEM I select, I still end up with the "45". I'm U27. I must be doing wrong there too.The "45" is great if I could change it to the number of my boat or replace it with an emblem of my choosing. Either, or, is good. I would like to fix this, so any input would help

Thank you, now I understand perfectly. When I test out a new install (GWR22) I always start from Wilhelmshafen in the 2nd Flotilla. Mostly August 1939 except for a few, where I still have to start in September 1939. I hadn't progressed far enough in the war before I gave up. I will definitely give this another go.Thanx again.

Many years ago, I published a preliminary (not finished) version of a mod similar in name. I wanted the forum members to try and rate my work... but, unfortunately, I did not receive any rating. Therefore, I did not complete the mod and publish it.

I already wrote that in the game SH3 there are no AI submarines! (there is no code for them in the game files). All Human Submarines and "AI Submarines", that match the standards of the game (without duplication), can be placed in the museum. In my (unfinished mod) there are non-standard solutions for functionality (not appearance)... so you need to carefully place this mod`s submarines in the museum ... perhaps with the exception of some elements... for example, guns, crew... and etc.

Нет необходимости бездумно включать в музей все имеющиеся в моде подлодки. Достаточно включить по одной (одинаково выглядящей) подлодке...

I forgot to say...
The mod, which I posted for the preview is more as the Development Kit category, so only experienced modders can apply it to their objects (submarines)... or you need to copy it 1:1..

Howdy. Sadly this mod is the worst of all the mods. Most people can't even play it. honestly I don't understand how it's even got as many downloads that it has because it has been out for years and it has never worked. It's a joke so don't bother with it. And this guy never seems to come up with an adequate solution for anybody to follow.

Yes, there are some real AI submarines in SH3, but they have never been released in the public area...

They can launch torpedoes against ships, submerge at periscope depth and crash dive. And they do it on purpose, it's not a random behaviour. :up:

Also, I've already seen an airplane controlled by the player (it was in GWM).

First i install fresh version of SH3. Then i copy mod from zip. I enable a GWR mod , launch multiSH3 and creating new cfg folder, then i launch HsieOptionsSelector and select same settings as in a GWRReadMe. In the end I try to launch the game and it starts loading. When it finisches loading, game crash.
My english isn't perfect so sorry for that:salute:

Because I never got to start a campaign with your GWX modded version (ever CTD at the load bar), I would to ask if I need to install after SH3, the original GWX and after your GWR mod and addons. Until now, I installed via JSGME your mod over a pristine SH3 vanilla.

It is the last thing I could do to see if the mod works...I tried many times, but ever the result was CTD starting new campaigns. My PC is poweful enough to run OneAlex, FIFI NYGM, SH5 TWoS and SH4 FOTRSU, with high FPS and short times to loading.

Many thanks for you work, the mod looks very nice with the added ships, but in my installations it is impossible to run.

It is correct to install GWR on a clean version of SH3, since I originally built it from GWX 3.0 Gold files and continue to have fun doing small changes and playing single-player missions in my free time.

I have tried to get this working over the years, with no luck. It looks very nice but after 2 or 3 hours of play , my game crashes to the desktop with a "Run Time" error. I have 4 computers that I have tried to play GWR v25 on, no luck. I might be doing somthing wrong here. The Ikea stile installation instructions are hard to follow. Sorry. I play GWX KC, GWX3, Toyotagt86, WAC 5.2, CCoM12, NYGM Enhanced v7.8 and OneAlex 1.53, spread across all 4 gamers. They all play perfectly. I do know how to set things up and have the computers to run these mods. I have tried many times and would love to have a working GWR v25 to add. Any suggestions or better installation guides would be appreciated. Thanx

I don't know how to help you. I don't play career and keep the game for testing different mods and single missions for fun.
