Is there a way to turn off the constant stopwatch ticking?

I went to send a patrol report, and instead it triggered the "Abandon Ship" self destruct. :o:wah:

When using the UZO, when it is locked the azimuth snaps to relative zero degrees no matter the actual heading of the target, and when it is unlocked the view then snaps to actual relative zero. Neither periscope does this. Also, the UZO itself, when viewed from the bridge, also moves to relative zero.

To better explain: when using the UZO and it is aimed at a target at 45 degrees startboard (45 degrees relative), the bearing ring shows 45 degrees. As soon as the UZO is locked to that target, the bearing ring snaps to zero degrees, although it remans locked to the target. The UZO, as seen in external view, is also pointed at 45 degrees. As soon as the UZO is unlocked, it is suddenly aimed at zero degrees, both optically in visual display and physically in external view.

What year did this happen? I have a suspicion that there is Dials.cfg file in the Commander on 19440101. Obviously this is due to different Dials.cfg. 1920 x 1080 is not my native resolution. I will try to fix it.

I don't think the _sil.tga files can cause CTD. Moreover, there are only 2 of them. NDD_Fletcher_shp.tga and NCVE_Bogue_sil.tga. In any case, they are not included in the main mod and require additional testing. Thanks for the tip. I will check more closely.

If your Watch crew is in the conning tower, and they are wearing their good weather cloths, when the weather changes they do not automatically change gear.

You need to remove them from coning tower and put them inside the boat, then put them back into the conning tower and Ta-Da, they are in their Bad Weather Gear.

Same thing can be accomplished by submerging for a moment and resurfacing.

All weather guns :"The usability of flaks in winds up to 10 m/s and heavy rain. Clearly, by denying the use of the flak with a breeze of 7 m/s was not realistic. Now you should be able to finish off that half-sunk small merchant after you fired your last torpedo. ;-) The only downside is that your crew will wear their rain-gear only after 11 m/s winds and really heavy rain, since this attribute is linked to what SH3 thiks is "storm conditions". Did a mid-patrol save using the proper precautions. When I return to the game it loads fine, but all of the control room indicator hands are pointing straight up at the 12o'clock position. Also the hydrophone is stuck the same way and it cannot be manipulated.


All of the systems on the boat do work. The soundman still functions, the engine room telegraph, compass, and depth controllers work fine. This happened on the previous patrol too, but all functions were restored when I started a new patrol.

VIIC. I selected it using Commander. 1st Flotilla out of Brest. November 1941.


The indicators function normally at the start of the patrol. They freeze when restarting the game from a save.

It happened to me also in the very beginning of SH3.

I am using FixAllSubGWX where all Ai U-Boats are remapped. Perhaps there are others that I haven't done.

I deleted the file data\Submarine\NSS_Uboat7f\NSS_Uboat7f.cam
and loaded the VIIC in 41, did a save and reloaded. Here is the result.

I usually do this at the port, but it's not with your U-boat and you can try it. The worst thing that can happen is that you will lose your save in the sea.

Just completed a patrol with no additional mods. Loaded with SH Commander. Sept. 1941, Type VIIC from Brest.

A couple of observations: I really like the better weather behavior with changes that don't just happen rapidly. The graphics of clouds and the sea are really well done.


However... :03: At no time did the sky ever become completely overcast. Even during the heaviest rain with lightning and thunder, there was much blue sky. Of course, that does happen, but there was never a heavy cloudy day or night.


The view of the horizon looks the same regardless of the visibility. Even foggy, poor conditions had the partly cloudy skies and what seems to be a good distance of seeing. Of course, ships sightings did behave correctly for the reported conditions. Foggy conditions should probably be completely grey.


Was attacked three times by destroyers.. Never did they set their depth charges to detonate deeper than about 20-30 meters. They did have ASDIC and more than once they seemed to have a good "fix" on me down deep.


The little UZO button does not work. Even when pressing shift+U and deploying it that way, if you switch to another view and press the little UZO button nothing happens.


The bridge watch never donned their heavy-weather gear even in the highest wind and rain. Surfacing into storm conditions or moving them inside and back to the bridge had no effect. I have read on other posts about fixing this, but I figured you may wish to know...


Also.. hydrophone doesn't work at periscope depth. Have to drop down a few more meters for it to function.

There are differen t types of clouds. You haven't had any really bad ones yet. So it was intended that UZO works when it is installed, but not through a small button. About outerwear, I have already answered above. Install Addon 21.16.

Regarding clouds.... I am currently in foggy conditions. Poor visibility, wind 11 m/s, heavy rain. I can see several stars at the horizon and it is raining even though much of the sky directly overhead is clear. These conditions have lasted several hours so the game has had time to render them properly.



I will load the latest addon at the end of this patrol...

One more thing, I noticed there's Rubini air torpedo mod in GWR while stiebler's one is also activated by default. Aren't they incompatible with each other? Even if they do, don't you think it's a little bit overkill?

Yes, to make Stiebler shallow asdic mod to work, you have to change some values in AI Sensors to minimum surface=100 :yep:
Otherwise they will still spot way too good when lying on floor by low depth...
In fact same values as in his NYGM mod, wich is working great.

1. Beta Test
2. You need a clean SH3 install. With Multi-SH3, you can have as many settings as your hard drive allows.

Hey Anvar1061, I was trying to start new 11th flotilla career at Bergen in January 1943 with type 7c uboat. I believe I have turm 2, fumb-1 and fumo-30 by default. Didn't do anything else, just go straight to patrol. Just 5 seconds after starting the patrol, boom, radar warning receiver destroyed (sometimes it's radar antenna that's destroyed or both), hull integrity goes straight down to 30%, usually one of the uboat compartment is also flooded and damaged but repairable. I hope you can replicate and fix this issue.

Ended up on land? That's impossible. I haven't even start my engine. I was at Bergen too, not Wilhelmshaven. It might be because you use the faulty turm from GUC 2.

Looks like you show a quirk that still exist since SH3 v1.0.
Instead of equip_2.cfg look into conning_barracks_6.cfg and the like.
The entries there under [RadarAntenna] 1275 and 1276 seems to be reversed.


The meanings of these entries are almost self-explanatory. Some sort of excellent help can be found in Documentations of the menu.ini like "MenuiniGuide11.pdf" from "scudder".

The Crop entry is somewhat different. It is a four "cut" point percent number of the size of the source image.
The coning.tga is 512x512. So 0.400391 means 0.400391 * 512 = 205, or the other way around - look into coning.tga - position of FuMB30 starts at pos x:205 - so 205 / 512 = 0.400391 (only 6 letters after point).

Not that i am aware of.
There are two "Workarounds" or two conning_barracks_6.cfg-files that has been changed:
LSH3v15 by Urmel(games)
FuMB37 and/or RotateAntenas(Stock/NYGM24) by "Tiger" Anvart.

But i'm shure you cant use them for your own without modifiing it to youre needs. It may be simpler to modify what you already have.

Simply replacing 1275 with 1276 in en(de)_menu.txt does not solve this problemOf course not. You have to change the entries for all Pictures under this two Keys in conning-barracks-files, not the description from en/de-menu.txt.
I believe the original conning_barracks-file(s) are also somewhat distorted. This can be seen also on other missing/wrong Pictures in the inGame-Eqp-Screen.

When change all the entries from these two Keys you must rechange the Key-Names to what they are before, but use the other Key-entries.

I believe that nothing critical will happen. GWR will still overwrite files at least WAC, NYGM, LSH at least CCoM. At your own risk.

Just my stupid questions about this mod here:
1. Which variant of ports are used? (currently only know the ones from LSH3 2020)
2. What about the campaign or how extensive is it compared to other mods like LSH3, GWX, NYGM, WAC, etc.
3. Is it possible to combine this mod with other mods or to use parts (submarines and ships) with e.g. LSH3 on Top?

I know, these are stupid questions but the last years I played SH5 and there it is easy to combine different mods, but this doesn't work so easy with SH3 in the past.

Additional information:
I used at the moment LSH3 2020 as basis in combination with Ahnenerbe WS GUI 1920x1080 for LSH3 2020, Fifi Enhancements For LSH3 2020, GUC, and Ships from VonDos.

The DGUI 1.5 is great, but I prefer Anhenerbe. But...it is heavy with WAC and CTDS are very happy with it.

I saw today that the optional skin from U-69 by Wise is historical not correct, like the version by Nozaurio for SH5. Wise used wrong colors for the flag and it must be look like in this screenshot:

there are still these problems ... that without any other mods just install GWR21 ... the depth gauges the cause and your TGA .. i want to put the original back or search ..? there are 2 to 3 meters of fake ... see screen
Moreover this hatch problem which plays twice maggace !!! as well as the observation periscope .. I had sound problem with the engine which is playing very hard at times ... I strongly suspect that these problems are linked to the opening of the hatches which are played twice ..

Thank you. That looks outstanding. I cant imagine the time and effort that whent into it. I'm no moder by any stretch of imagination but would you be ok if I try adapting parts (meaning All) to Magui?...

1360x768 sadly has become the only way I can see my torpedo salutations. I doubt I'm up to the task but this looks to good to not try.

Thanks Anvar. this definitely makes seeing the TDC easier. its all the other stuff I cant see when in higher res...like crew names, condition of my boat, even moving crew from station to station becomes tricky.

I think I'm using a part of one of your mods, the compass from your GWXR pack but I inverted the colors to make it easer to read...looks like hell but I can see it.

I checked DF_ANT.dat in your so called 'fix' DF_ANT_FIX.7z with my file from above mod (GWX_DFa-Flag&Pens_2010.7z). The files are absolutely identical.
The options are:
1) You did not use my DF_ANT.dat file
2) Maybe... the problem was in command*.cfg

I installed GWR
But with high probability when I try to play single mission, CTD happen.

I can load and play Naval Academy with no problem.
I've patched 4gb patch already, and launch sh3 through sh commander.

And sometimes loading time takes over 7 mins.

How to fix?

When a CTD occurs is when I choose a U-boat of a year and type other than the one shown at the time of selection in the mission selection screen.

For example, I chose IXB instead of VIIC as shown in the Gibraltar mission selection screen. That's when the CTD happened

You must always choose the u-boat and the year you have chosen in Commander.

I did.
But still error.
First, I enabled GWR(v21.5) . Next I enabled add on 21.5.1 after GWR.
No any other mod have not enabled yet.

Error nunber "Menu ID not found:0x3f8000ff! "

This may be due to the data/Menu/cfg/Dials.cfg file included in the Addon or Commander. Perhaps. it was placed due to my inattention. Check it out.

Search for DialsFdb.tga in the Addon GWR SH3 v21.5.2/SH3 Commander/U-boat folder and delete them all.

I installed new add on! GREAT. No error, no CTD! Thank you.
But I found issues.

MaGui that includes in add on, as you can see in picture...

P.S. I found cannot use UZO on MaGui too. Sorry for my many complains. Plz think these are just feedback to this great mod.

UZO cannot be used until it is installed on the Turm. Try installing MaGUI 1024 first and 1360 on top. I'll check it out.

I changed the size of the buttons in DialsFdb.tga and made the corresponding changes in menu_1024x768.ini for the latest version of DGUI and DGUI Hardcore. The double button is caused by using the latest menu_1024x768.ini with an old version of DialsFdb.tga . To solve it just replace that file with the latest one in the mod directory and Commander directories.

Real nice stuff, I tested the VIIA from your latest update today loading after GWR and GWR addon in jsgme and looks good so far, still under top of the deck when your on surface you can see the 'crew on deck' line when their deselected. It doesn't appear when submerged though. That has to do with the deck not fully being finished though so I get that and requires 3D graphic work from Jeff to get it all up to snuff which he said he was working on lately. I'll have to test the hydophone as I never got a chance yet (only 3 days in my sept 39' patrol and got a merchant that was on the surface at night so never needed to submerge to listen yet. I'll test out more tmrw, getting really late her. - cheers

If by this.. you're meaning windows compatibility, right click the SH3.exe, select "properties". In the pop up menu, go to "Compatibility" tab, & in there... can select Win 7 & while at it, set SH3, to run in admin mode, as well.

I'm not sure but I do know sometimes when I was playing with Onealex's compilation that there was a delay when you went say from command room or bridge to hydrophone room, before you would hear the hydrophone working, there would be a 5 second delay or something and then it would turn on and I would hear the contacts screws at the known bearing or my propellers at 180. Is it not working like at all for you? i'll test some more later today.

Overall with the mod I like how I don't need to search through 50-100 pages of recognition manual, where it brings me to the page automatically after locking on with UZO or periscope so thanks for that. I also like that I can select what I want and don't want from .hsie and stiebler instead of a pre selected features patched over the sh3.exe and its the most visual pleasing of all the mega mods (lot of SH5 visuals ported over) I have played with however because of the intense processing and graphic level I suspect is why people crash more with this compilation unless they have a beast rig. Things I found that it happens when your close to land masses going at x256 or higher tc (like in North Sea) also happens around ports as there's a lot more towns, ports and ships which is nice don't get me wrong but could be bottlenecks for some out there. If you have a beast of a rig and can spend time following install instructions step by step then this is the compilation mod for you, if you want it more easier install and don't have a beast PC rig then Onealex's compilation is the way to go....both are awesome (that's my review)

I was one of the first to release the full SHIII_GWX3_Reworked_Rus installation. Just unpack and play. For which I received a lot of dissatisfied comments from the Subsim community. And 4 years 10 months ago the installation method was changed.

So loading back up my VIIA campaign sept 39' patrol and I tested the hydrophone, no issues that I could see (I could hear screws and all, I could manually rotate it too) but sometimes I find the AI crewman if his skill is low and doesn't have qualification for radio/sonar then sometimes he won't pick up a ship even when your at ahead slow and the vessel is in medium range.

In MaGui, we can't move viewpoint freely in control room. (We can only look up, down or sideways)

It's a pain to press shift+f2 every time.
Pressing a shortcut key for control room will reset the viewpoint


Is there any way to move it freely?

You claimed that my above mentioned comments on Commands _*.cfg have already been implemented, but this is not true. Your last available version of this file is in GWR SH3 v21.5.7z. I talked and talk about this file.
I do not recommend using the mouse wheel in commands:

Causes:
Some players use:
1) Mouse Zoom in/out... for increasing the radar screen image
2) Inconvenience - special adjustment of the mouse wheel is required for a satisfactory speed of rotation of the radar (sonar) wheel, which is not applicable for the mouse to work outside the game.

P.S.
The commands Activate_radar, Deactivate_radar and Radar_rotate work only in the mode Radar - Focus.

With the main mod & the add on mod...

in the MODS folder in each of these... Do I do the main mod GWR 1st, then the other mods in that folder, followed by the optionals 1st... then folow that up with the add on mod (main mod), followed by the other mods in the MODS folder & finally any optionals in that folder last.??? :hmmm:

Just wanting to make sure I have a clear, concise activation order correct here... so as to avoid any CTD's...

When you unpack the Addon, you must move the MODS folder to the appropriate folder and agree with the replacement of folders and files. Then you can install other mods of your choice after activating it.
