It was without a doubt one of the worst audio-visual experiences of my life.

The song has essentially no melody, the lyrics are abysmally stupid, and the video looks like a somewhat ambitious project put together by a high school A-V club.

Back in the late 90's, I worked as a white water rafting guide on the New River, in West Virginia. The company I worked for had about 50 acres or so of property and allowed us to set up tents in the back woods and live there. There was a lounge, kitchen, locker room, etc up at the main building so it wasn't that bad at all. No rent!

One of the guys had a dish system like this, except he had to set it up in the parking lot so it could see the satellites, then run the cable and extension cords 1,000ft into the woods to his tent, where he had DVD/VHS, Big screen TV, etc in his tent.

That pic made me smile from thinking of that.

I don't see what's so bad about that. It's no worse than 99% of the mindless pop/crap that's out there, and always has been. Most kids would rather listen to fluff than serious music, and always will. She's got fifty-five million views, which says something. On the other hand the video has ten times as many dislikes as likes, which also says something.

I on the other hand participated in a cool acoustic gig last night. No videos this time, but there was a group consisting of a man and two women. Together they were great, but one of the women could really sing. Also there were some top local blues musicians who did a great jame. It was well worth the time spent.

I'm so jealous. I used to belong to a local Meetup group for music lovers, we would get together about once a month and just hang out and play and sing stuff.

Well, I say I used to belong, technically I think I'm still registered as a member. I just don't go to the meetups any more because unfortunately I just couldn't deal with the person who ran the thing and apparently neither could anybody else who made attending worthwhile for me personally. Really a bummer because when we did manage to get some talented musicians involved it was a lot of fun.

To us a cookie is a type of biscuit, usually chocolate-chip. A cracker is a savoury-type of biscuit and a sweet-type of biscuit is just a biscuit (that also encompasses cookies!). Crackers are great with cheese, but one can also say cheese and biscuits and that means crackers. I wouldn't put gravy on a cookie, a cracker or the all encompassing biscuit.

Chips are square-cut wedges (chipped, some might say) of potato, fried. Crisps are very thin slices of potato fried until, get this, crispy! :D I'd put gravy on chips, but not on crisps, and even when on the chips it would have to be chips either on their own or with a meaty item such as pie. Never for fish!

They look like scones to me, I would cut in half and spread butter and a preserve on. Certainly wouldn't entertain chicken or gravy, or breakfast! :o
