ELITE U-BOAT BINOCULARS
I created this mod so that the U-boat crews in the Silent Hunter III PC game would use whilst on watch duty a elite & professional looking binocular.
This mod replaces the original 01_Binocular01.tga file, in the following file structure pathway: C:/Program Files/Ubisoft/SilentHunterIII/data/Textures/TNormal/tex.
I have retextured/recoloured the binocular tga. I have even added a blue ocean reflection on the outer lenses.
This mod is 100% compatible with the GWX Expansion mod & all GWX patch upgrades.
This mod should be used in conjunction with JScones Generic Mod Enabler (JSGME).
This mod has the correct file structured pathway to be utilised with the above mentioned JScones software product.
This mod is zipped with WinRAR.

ELITE U-BOAT UNIFORM - BLUE
I made this mod so that the U-boat crews in the Silent Hunter III PC game would look elite & professional. The items contained within this mod; are in my opinion, the best looking & most realistic.
A large majority of items contained in the mod were created by Fubar. I sought permission from him to alter & re-mod his uniforms. Fubar granted permission & Full credit goes to him for being the originator of the uniforms contained within this mod. I also tried to gain permission to use Konrad Krumm's white cap. I utilised PM, ICQ & email methods, but was unable to make contact with him to secure his permission. In his readme documentation it stated to give him credit if his cap was to be used in another mod.
I used Fubar’s uniforms as a base template (starting point); to create the Elite U-boat Uniform series. By incorporating this mod into your game, your crew will be wearing the best officers caps, schiffchen cap, deck gun & AA helmets, leather jackets, shirts, wet weather gear, boots, belts, belt buckles, buttons, German eagles, gloves, trousers, trouser clips, that BDU has to offer the Kriegsmarine U-boat service. Also included in this mod are the best faces, for both officers & enlisted sailors that I could find to merge into this mod.
An additional uniform has been included in this mod; it is your own personnel U-boat commander uniform, complete with Konrad Krumm's white cap. Please remember that if you use the white cap, all officers posted to your U-boat will also wear the same coloured headdress.
This mod is 100% compatible with the GWX Expansion mod & all GWX patch upgrades.

One question......(I know this have been asked many times, but I just cannot remember when or what.....:oops: )
I have just started a new patrol.....well I am already near Madera, a long way from Lorient) I have installed The "compulsary head dress for SH3Commander before starting the patrol....Can I install the Elite uniform and U-boat commander special.....without returning to port?
Sorry for being a pain....That is just one of the problem with Old Kaleun....too long at sea you forget none U-boot tech things....:damn:

On the Wednesday 10th October 2007, Neal Stevens posted on Subsim a thread titled "Salute-Abraham". This was a devastating thread to the Subsim community, the text was short and to the point, simply informing us of the following; "I got a PM this morning with bad news. It appears our friend and Subsim member Abraham was "found dead" in his home in Amsterdam". Neal Stevens attached two links with additional information to obviously let all the members read why/how this tragedy occurred.
I did not personally know or even communicate with Abraham in the Subsim forums, and for that I truly regret not doing so. I have taken the time to locate his name in the many thousands of active skippers at Subsim and I have read his threads & posts. You can learn a lot about a person by the way he/she writes & Abraham is no different.
To Neal Stevens & the Subsim community who knew & had Abraham's hand in friendship, I send my condolences.
I have made a very small mod for you, hoping that this may help Abraham live on in the Silent Hunter III world. The mod contains a picture of Abraham to be used in conjunction with JScones SH3 Commander Software product.
Salute Abraham, has the correct file structure pathway. Just follow the folder links & drop Abraham’s picture into the appropriate folder.
Salute Abraham has been zipped with WinRAR.
Salute Abraham is not compatible with JScones Generic Mod Enabler (JSGME).
If this is unacceptable & has angered you in what I have done I will remove this immediately. My intent was not to hurt you, but to pay tribute to Abraham.
I am a modder and this is what I do. I have made this for you, which is the least I could do during this difficult time.
RIP Abraham.

I've mustered up about 130 different German Eagles in the last 3 yrs from websites including your links. I've chosen this one for the Elite Uniform series for its three dimensional look and that it is different. This German Cross was made from silver and the Eagle made from gold.
Combine both and you have a fairly elite emblem.
This original emblem was made from white & yellow cotton and sown onto the jacket. I saw this and immediately knew it was different from the other 129 German Eagles that I have under lock and key. :yep:

The red uniform is infact dark red (all colours are mat/dark colour), I have them ready, just seeing which colour to upload first as it takes about 1 x day to take pictures, upload mod, prepare links, upload pictures etc.
So at this stage 1 x red uniform, I was getting worried about the nil replies, I wonder if I should kill off the elite uniform from the lack of replies........:hmm:

The red uniform is infact dark red (all colours are mat/dark colour), I have them ready, just seeing which colour to upload first as it takes about 1 x day to take pictures, upload mod, prepare links, upload pictures etc.

I have downloaded all the Elite uniforms skins, they are just smashing and it allows me to change my crew uniform depending on the season and time spent in a mission.;;etc....!

With regards to your question, I'm unsure. When I make my mods; I make them to two types of SHIII game sets. The first is; I test it On standard game (straight from the shop with patches only); the second is to trial it with GWX with the current GWX patch.
So all other mods that have been created I'm unsure how they would be with the compatiblity of my mods.
It may have to be a case of you trialing the mods (ensure to use JSGME) if your going to trial this method.
Oh by the way; red uniform is looking as though it may be next into the Kriegsmarine clothing shop followed by yellow. A couple more preferences should seal the deal.

i really like your works and use a lot of them in my SH3.
One thing i like for most are the Elite-Uniforms.
Now i took a sharper look at them and i found the swastikas within the eagle-sign is turning clockwise, although in real the nazis swastika was turning anti-clockwise.
It's not a big deal, but i'm always confused, looking at my crew, since i discovered it.
Do you plan to correct this? I saw you're giving a freshover to the uniforms at the moment, maybe you can integrate this fix. If i may help you with this, pm me.
Btw, keep up the good work, lots of your quality mods are a must have. :up:

I will be withdrawing all uniforms to replace the shirt eagle. If members are raising constructive criticism about the uniform/s, then the end result is that they are; in my eyes not elite.
And with all my mods I strive for perfection. I thank you all for your constructive feedback. This is what modding is all about. Back to the drawing board. ;)
Venatore, I just checked both the black and brown uniform shirt eagles and the swastika is correct on them so no need to fix them. As you can see by the party button in my sig, Kpt.Strelow is mistaken about which way the arms go.

Yes; you are both right......I think. :hmm:
What seems to be happening is on the Tga file the German swastika contained within the circle; somehow flips the other way; once it is in the game. To correct this I have to mirror the swastika on the Tga file so it comes out the right way. There were some really good comments about the colour of the swastika as well (about it being the same colour). I merged an eagle that was two tone with the swastika being silver and the rest of the eagle being gold. I thought it looked good to begin with, but as members raised comments, that it wasn't really realistic I started to agree, I was being lazy and hoping it would go away, but as additional comments were made, I knew the uniform was faulty.
So to that end the uniforms have been returned to the manufacture to be altered. I apologise for this as I know allot of you are on dial-up & downloading these mods can be a pain in the arse, and for that I'm truly sorry for stuffing everyone around.
Another strange thing that I have noticed is some eagle heads face out & other heads face in. I’ve mentioned this before, that I have over time download approximately 130 German eagles & it seem to be half & half.
I’ve opted for the head facing in, my reasoning for this is the eagle is facing your heart, you have given your heart & soul to the Kriegsmarine U-boat Service…well that’s my story & I’m sticking to it.
Once again I am deeply sorry for stuffing everyone around with regards to getting this right the first time & having the complete Elite U-boat Uniform (Black, Blue, Brown, Green & Red) delivered in a timely manner & having it correct the first time.

You are right when you say the swastika turns into the right direction on the .tgas.
But as Venatore mentioned too, SH3 in some cases mirrors parts or complete .tga files. The same for example happens with some of the photo textures in radio and commanders room.
BTW, what comes out in the game counts.

Especially the ones showing the gun crew and the Weapon officer or Navigator; how do you manage to get such a close view on them? I tried to get some screenshots (in outside view of course), to play around with them in PSP X , but never managed to get some like yours....
I was wondering when someone was going to ask about the screen shots. The screen shots that I upload can sometimes take longer than the mod itself. I always try to get the angle/sun light in the right place.

A modder should never ask for money for his/her mods, the enjoyment/satisfaction is knowing that your mods are being used in other members SHIII games :o
I ask nothing of you in return and if a modder ever does/did :stare: he/she, should be court-marshaled :stare: found guilty under the charge of underminding modding ethics :stare: then he/she should be thrown down the darkest deepest dungeon in Castle Wolfenstien :shifty:
I get really excited when I’m minutes away from releasing a mod, but I think its more nerves than anything hoping that the mod meets the member’s expectations :yep:

Salut Venatore,
As you you know, the Kreigsmarine map is divided in Grid and each gread (this is not showing SH3) is divided in a secondary gird of 9 Quadran, allowing you to give the exact location with 5 digits......
You have been doing special customised "Map" mod with dragable tools and I was wondering if, by any chance you had in your treasure vault ;) , a mod that would allow to have a dragable secondary quadrant to allow you to have the exact four digits position???
I know this is a bit odd, but I soon going to start reporting on Spinnennetz and with the actual available tools it is a bit of a gamble to pin point the exact position of a contact...

Divide the gid squares on your map with ruler lines. This will help alot.
But yes a good tool or map with a 3 or 4 digit grid would be nice for Spinnennetz.

ELITE U-BOAT UNIFORM - RED
I made this mod so that the U-boat crews in the Silent Hunter III PC game would look elite & professional. The items contained within this mod; are in my opinion, the best looking & most realistic.
A large majority of items contained in the mod were created by Fubar. I sought permission from him to alter & re-mod his uniforms. Fubar granted permission & Full credit goes to him for being the originator of the uniforms contained within this mod. I also tried to gain permission to use Konrad Krumm's white cap. I utilised PM, ICQ & email methods, but was unable to make contact with him to secure his permission. In his readme documentation it stated to give him credit if his cap was to be used in another mod.
I used Fubar’s uniforms as a base template (starting point); to create the Elite U-boat Uniform series. By incorporating this mod into your game, your crew will be wearing the best officers caps, schiffchen cap, deck gun & AA helmets, leather jackets, shirts, wet weather gear, boots, belts, belt buckles, buttons, German eagles, gloves, trousers, trouser clips, that BDU has to offer the Kriegsmarine U-boat service. Also included in this mod are the best faces, for both officers & enlisted sailors that I could find to merge into this mod.
An additional uniform has been included in this mod; it is your own personnel U-boat commander uniform, complete with Konrad Krumm's white cap. Please remember that if you use the white cap, all officers posted to your U-boat will also wear the same coloured headdress.
This mod is 100% compatible with the GWX Expansion mod & all GWX patch upgrades.
This mod should be used in conjunction with JScones Generic Mod Enabler (JSGME).
This mod has the correct file structured pathway to be utilised with the above mentioned JScones software product.
This mod is zipped with WinRAR.
For best results, consider using my "Compulsory U-boat Headdress" mod. This can be located in my modding thread at Subsim.

I will have a go at this; it should be easy to transfer the necessary files to achieve it. Did you want the entire coning tower crew to wear the wet weather coat or did you just want the officer? I will ensure that I don't transfer the wet weather hat as you stipulated.
There maybe something unforseen that I don't know about with regards to what I'm about to do...you know how fickle file structures can be.
But if this is successful I will package it and give you full credit as the person who came up with this concept.

I've had a go and it is not working :damn: I've replaced all the uniforms with the coat, change the names, re-did the DAT files, but when you load the game and look at the crew they are wearing a tangled mess of crap :shifty: If one can help it would be great to know your thoughts on why it is not working.
For me this would seem very simple to do.....but that is modding (the unknown factor)

My deepest apologies for not delivering mods to certain members as promised, I'm currently in the middle of being posted (Army) from Tasmania to Brisbane. I have crap, boxes and the entire Venatore workstation is a mess.
Communications from this U-boat (U657) will cease around the 01/02 Dec 07, I will be in transit with the wife, daughters and the mighty Alaskan Malamute from the 03-20 Dec 07. I hope to re-surface just prior to Christmas.
If I don't get the chance, I would just like to say thank you to everyone who supported me with my mods. I hope you and families stay safe and enjoy the time off with your loved ones.
2007 has been a really good year for me in this forum and I owe it all to the members. Once again thank you and I'll see you again soon.

I dare say the "Elite Uniform" series are compatible with GWX 2.0. These mods are just texture adjustments and should not clash with any large Imperial Mega Mods.
By the way there are still two more uniform mods in the series to come.

Extreme Wet Weather Gear
This mod replaces the U-boat crew conning tower wet weather gear.
This mod gives the appearance that your conning watch-tower crew have wet weather gear that has ice sticking to it.
Jacket and pants now look the same instead of the different tones.
This mod is compatible with all GWX mods and patch upgrades including GWX 2.0.
This mod should be used in conjunction with the JSGME [Generic Mod Enabler] created by JONESOFT any version will do, but the latest is version 2.0.1.

I think the crew play a big part in this game both visually and also setting the intense body language scene when you have become the hunted.
I'm about to go out on a limb here with a upcoming crew mod this mod may crash and burn or it may survive the eagle eye of the the SHIII community.........either way its never been thought of or produced before.

Flecktarn Protective Helmet Cover
[Non-historical to the Kriegsmarine U-boat Service]
This mod replaces the texture on the deck gunners & flak gunner’s helmets.
This Flecktarn camouflage pattern is not historical to the Kriegsmarine U-boat service and was used by the Waffen SS combat units which experimented with various patterns since the mid 1930s. This Flecktarn camouflage pattern was used by the Germans during WWII.
For non service members who are unaware; a helmet cover regardless of the camouflage pattern is also used to protect the helmet itself form being damaged.
The reason I have incorporated this Flecktarn pattern into the SHIII game is simple....I like it and that’s the only reason.
I will be developing many other helmet covers for the SHIII game so please look for other camouflage pattern cover in the series created by me.
I came up with the idea after I was admiring my own Aussie Kevlar issued helmet and thought hey that just might work.
This mod is compatible with GWX 2.0
This mod should be used in conjunction with JSGME.
This mod has been zipped with WinRAR.

I'm able to mod the entire U-boat crew in camouflage uniforms..........but I'm not quite sure how the Subsim members would take to seeing their crew in camouflage gear.......they may call for head on a stick.......................
I've been using several camouflage U-boat crews for about 3 months; but have been to scared to show the members.........in my opinion my camouflage uniforms make the elite uniforms look.....well crap, but that's just my humble little opinion.
That helmet above came off my U657 crew....:p
....bring them on variety is the spice of life....nice work and nice options....will be implementing these uniforms right away!

Elite Flecktarn Camouflage U-Boat Uniform
[Non-historical Kriegsmarine U-Boat Uniform]
The majority of camouflage uniforms contained in this mod have different patterns for each individual crewman [look at each uniform in the pictures and you'll see what I mean]
I made this mod so that the U-boat crews in the Silent Hunter III PC game would look elite & professional. The items contained in this mod in my opinion, are the best looking & most realistic.
A large majority of items contained in the mod were created by Subsim member Fubar. I sought permission from him to alter & re-mod his uniforms. Fubar granted permission & full credit goes to him for being the originator of the uniforms contained within this mod.
I used Fubar’s uniforms as a base template (starting point); to create the Elite Flecktarn Camouflage U-Boat Uniform. By incorporating this mod into your game, your crew will be wearing the best Flecktarn Camouflage officers caps, schiffchen cap, deck gun & AA helmets, leather jackets, shirts, wet weather gear, boots, belts, belt buckles, buttons, German eagles, gloves, trousers, trouser clips, that BDU has to offer the Kriegsmarine U-boat service. Also included in this mod are the best faces, for both officers & enlisted sailors that I could find to merge into this mod
This mod is 100% compatible with the GWX 2.0 & all GWX patch upgrades.
This mod should be used in conjunction with JScones Generic Mod Enabler (JSGME).
This mod has the correct file structured pathway to be utilised with the above mentioned JScones software product.
This mod is zipped with WinRAR.
For best results, consider using my "Compulsory U-boat Headdress" mod. This can be located in my modding thread at Subsim.

Hi Lutzow,
With regards to the end product of the skins; I'll always try to achieve a Mat finish. I try not to have the colours looking separate from the item; may it be sub skins or uniforms.
You will see other modders producing skins that have a very dark colour that looks separate form the item or high gloss appearance, this is not wrong at all but its just different styles.
I always have the colour trying to blend in with the item so you can see the texture of what ever it is that I'm skinning behind the colour.
There are many software utilities that you can use; as you are in not doubt aware, another technique is to vary the "opacity" setting so the colour fades with different percentage settings 0 to 100 %.
I will always try to achieve a MAT finish to the item and stay away from a style that makes the paint process look in short "fake"
As for any mods tomorrow, I will be preparing to going back to work after having time off Army since the 3 Dec 07. New Job and new surprises so I don't know what I'm getting myself into on Monday morning.

Another beautiful looking skin:rock:I've noticed though Ven that there is a omission in your lineup of subs and its a personal favourite of mine.....the TypeVIIB,I don't like to make requests of modders but I must say that I've always wanted you to do a dedicated TypeVIIB similar to your TypeVIIC Atlantic workhorse3 skin,another of my favourite skins you've made,this would of course be for GWX2.0,My career in it is in the early stages of 1940 so the TypeVIIB with the turm1 is my current boat:hmm::up:;):yep:

With regards to SHIII Commander 2.7 and the headdress it will depend if you have rolled back SHIII Commander.
To ensure that you have it all working correctly I would imagine that you will have to wait till you start a new patrol :hmm:
I haven't actually rolled back, I thought that was only if modding SH3, this is the 3rd patrol I think with your mod in, I just started a new patrol So I might go in SH3 load mission at end of last patrol then exit, roll back SH3 Commander, then launch again.:yep:

Edit: This is wierd though, even though the SH3 Commander containg your files in the SilentHunterIII\SH3 Commander\Crew\Realistic\data\Cfg folder and SH3 started via commander the SilentHunterIII\data\Cfg folder contains these files but are all original stock files date stamped 2005, so it appears that SH3 Commander is not functioning & yes I do have version 2.7 & a tick in "Similate realistic crew transfers", however I have noticed, on the last 2 patrols, that it didn't start with a warning of crew members being transferred.!:-? Maybe I should just use JSGME to load them into the SH3 cfg folder!:oops:
I might contact Jaesen on this as well!

Ice Age
This mod changes the textures of all the icebergs contained in the Silent Hunter III game.
My intent for this mod was to develop varying layers of ice for the icebergs giving each of them more of a solid & detailed look compared to the very flat visual version in the original textures which in my opinion gave a one dimensional appearance, thus making them look crap & very clean, almost sterile.
This mod is compatible with GWX 2.0
This mod should be used in conjunction with JScones JSGME.
This mod has the correct file structure pathway.
This mod is zipped with WinRAR.
In the development of this mod Danlisa helped me, his knowledge & his ability to fault-find was the difference & a large majority of credit is handed to him with my full thanks & deep gratitude [thank you Danlisa]

The quickest & easiest way to see them is to load one of the two iceberg single missions [GWX 2.0] instead of your campaign. By the way the textures also continue below the surface and run the full length of the iceberg.

First I would like to congratulate you for making such wonderful mods that bring
much realism to this incredible game and allow us to enjoy something very special in playing SH3. This game as it goes actually would not be the same without things that both the GWX Team and you modders have accomplished. For this and once again, thank you so much guys.
I am using a few mods, most of them created by you Venatore and I must say that each time I am leaving the port for a new patrol, I feel like I am in a great adventure. Graphic and details improvments are so important !
By the way, I have recently installed your "Extreme Wet Weather Gear" but unfortunenately, looks like this mod does not work for me probably because of another one that might prevent rain drops to be seen on my WO and his men.
I also use your "U-boat map night filters" and the "Compulsory U-boat Headdress". Guess I cannot use any one of those with the Extreme
Wet Weather Gear mod at the same time ... ?
All the mods I use are enhanced with JSGME and I am running GWX 2.0

If you are using a Uniform mod of mine make sure that the Extreme Wet Weather Gear mod gets activated after and not before, I say this because the majority of my Elite Uniforms also come with wet weather gear and if this is activated after then that will be the one you see.

By the way, MERCI for the warm welcome. I have been navigating around this forum for quite a long time before register so I do agree with all the Kaleuns here, it is definitely a great and very helpful forum dedicated to a "masterpiece" as you once said and where nice and people do share :yep:
I decided to practice as much as possible before leaving the port for my first patrol. Means I have been training all over at the Naval Academy for weeks so that I feel ok with the Manual Targeting, bearings, speed and AoB etc ... not easy at the beginning but as they say in my coutry: "the game is worth the candle" ;)
I did it in a chronological way as I say. I have just started my first patrol a few days ago and I enjoy the game much more everytime.
Regarding to the high quality of your mods and your skills, I was just wondering:
are you working in video games graphics as a professional or is it just a skill you have in modding ?

I've have no university degrees in video games graphics and I've never worked for any gaming organisation. I'm married have two awesome daughters, own an Alaskan Malamute wolf, I'm in the Australian Army [Infantry] and I'm just an average guy who loves to enhance games. My other love is paranormal [hauntings] I love to dabble as an investigator, going it alone in a massive building house etc just me and the unknown
I first started skinning aircraft skins in the IL2 game, then moved onto here. All of my mods have been created by trial and error [many errors :damn:]

VIIC Atlantic Workhorse Skin IV
[Non-Historical]
This mod replaces the skin for type VIIB & VIIC U-Boat variants. Note that this skin is better suited for the type VIIC.
This U-boat displays a fictional paint scheme.
I used "Konrad Krum" VIIC Skin as my skin template, (I was unable to contact this forum member to ask permission, he/her has not been to the forum for sometime. I sent a forum PM & ICQ message asking permission, I never received a reply).
I also incorporated/merged some U-Boat files from "Fubar" skins which I sought permission a while back.
I have re-textured/re-coloured the entire U-Boat upper/lower body.
I have merged internal dials to the conning tower dial compartments.
I have retextured/re-coloured the antenna, radar and snorkel.
I have re-coloured/re-textured the AA guns and the 88mm deck gun.
I have re-textured the compartment lids on the deck.
This file mod is compatible with GWX 2.0
This mod has the correct file structure pathway & is compatible with JSGME.
This mod is zipped with WinRAR.

I've noticed though Ven that there is a omission in your lineup of subs and its a personal favourite of mine.....the TypeVIIB,I don't like to make requests of modders but I must say that I've always wanted you to do a dedicated TypeVIIB similar to your TypeVIIC Atlantic workhorse3 skin

Just a note, the type VIIC uses the same files as the type VIIB. I've looked at my workhorse skin series, and it works fine but there a certain things that you will notice.
That there is a line that runs the length of the tanks;
That some of the paint schemes wont match up.If someone can tell me how to make a type VIIB U-boat by not using the type VIIC files this would be handy:hmm: but I doubt you can use different files to achieve this.

Yes they are for the Type VIIb. You just must to repaint(correct) positions of textures on tanks and small details elswere(i think that turm connection of FRONT and SIDES textures also dosen´t fit same like Type VIIc. Maybe there have to correct other small (unnoticable) details and that´s all.

When i´m producing my"U-47 color scheme for Type VIIc/41" i also was only corrected my previous "U-47" skin designed for Type VIIb, names of the files i leave how they where before.

Don't know matey; as I don't use the 16km mod. All my mods are created using the standard clean GWX 2.0 as the foundation.
This is a recolouring of the file and nothing else has been altered so I'm at a loss to the reason why. Anybody that uses the 16km mod maybe able to help.

All JSGME is doing is warning you it's about to overwrite a file that has already been installed.
Everything should be fine....just go ahead and install it, it's just a tga.file. If it proves problematic, you can always uninstall :up:

Just DL Ven's file, there is a scene.dat file in the structure....only a scene.dat NO tga's of anykind. What that means for folks that have altered scene.dat is a big fat ? as far as my knowledge base goes.
I run GWX 2.0 so.....now what.
Beautiful moon nevertheless! Good work Ven! I use your uniforms and helmet covers they are just great!

I feel it is our job [the modder] to also educate the members who have limited knowledge of modding techniques, explain how and why we do what we do enables everyone to better understand the structure of the SHIII game :know:
For example this mod "Hunter's Moon"; if you open the following pathway;
Program Files/Ubisoft/SilentHunterIII/dataYou will see a file called "scene [this is a DAT file]. Contained within this file are four tga files, they are fog.tga, N00.tga, Moon.tga and sun_b.tga :huh:
I have used the DAT Extractor Tool to extract the Moon.tga file so I could mod it. If you unaware of what a DAT Extractor Tool is; this is a link to modding trade tools :up:

[Audio Mod]
This mod replaces the ambient wind sound in the SHIII game.
The file that has been modded is: "amb_Wind1.wav"
The file location is: Program Files/Ubisoft/SilentHunterIII/data/Sound
I’ve tried to create an eerie/haunting sound to the original wind, utilising the original sound, I've additionally added and merged 3 new howling eerie wind sounds.
This mod is compatible with GWX.
This mod has the correct file structure pathway to be used in conjunction with "JScones" Generic Mod Enabler version 2.0.1 [JSGME]
This mod is zipped with WinRAR.
This mod was created by Venatore.

I've just realised something about torpedos and the hydrophone device within SHIII. Have you notice that when you fire a single torpedo or a salvo group of torpedos all you here is a very plain, boring, humming sound, that apparently is your actively running torpedo :nope:
Last night I created an audio file that fixed this and you can now hear the torpedo/s actively running with a bit more gusto and realism to the sound :p
I will load this mod up today :yep:
Until the "Torpedo Hydrophone Sound" arrives, have a go and see if you can here this crap sound :o

Torpedo Hydrophone Sound

This mod replaces the active running torpedo sound that you hear in the U-boat hydrophone in the SHIII game.
The file that has been modded is: "Torpedo_Cruise_loop_hyd.wav"
The file location is: Program Files/Ubisoft/SilentHunterIII/data/Sound
I’ve tried to create a sound that has a definite underwater propeller sound, compared to the original file which was a plain, boring, and a down right crap attempt. The tone & pitch has also been modded to reflect what an operator would experience when listening into the hydrophone headset.
The volume has also been increase to 25%.
This mod is compatible with GWX.

I believe in the near future we'll have them at bts-mods.com, I sent him his FTP info yesterday but given that Australians are in a very different time zone I haven't heard from him for a little while. For all I know it could be Tuesday there and he might be at work ;)

Quick question, I d/l'd hunters moon and put it in mid patrol and during the day time hours the sky was completely black, except for the sun. I am assuming that it would be better to be "in base" before activating it? Thanks.
I will assume you use SH3 Commander. Did you roll it back before enabling the mod? If you didn't, there is your problem, you must roll Commander back before enabling or disabling any mod.

Due to JCWolf's website being destroyed by a direct hit from the Hood, we have had to re upload all our mods to different sites. I am in the process of doing just that. I hoping to have all my mods back up by the end of this week.
