Playing out a career in NYGM with SH3 Weather and I came across a strange bug. I saved the game in my Type IIA when the weather was clear, no fog, 11 mps. This weather really was tossing my canoe around but no big deal. No bad guys around. When I reload my sub ends up on the bottom dead almost instantly. I also use SH3 Commander.
I was pissed off but I skipped SH3 Commander and went directly to my SH3 folder and ran the weather mod again and reset in randomly. Then when I reloaded the game my sub was fine. Is this a known bug? Should I abandon SH3 Weather? Not sure if this is related: Everytime I reload a saved game I start inside the sub and it seems like I hear, for an instant, some damage noises...kinda electrical sounding and the sub rocks back and forth....I dont think any damage is really happening though. Anyone else get this in a reload? I think this has been happening ever since I had the game no matter what mod or patch. |

I use NYGM with SH3Weather and without SH3 Cdr, and never encountered this problem so far...

I think we've got that dive to the ocean floor saved game bug nailed to the wall. Running SH3Weather manually, then starting SH3Commander to run SH3, seemed to fix the saved game for me. |

Ill look into it, but I don't think that SH3weather is the issue, as it doesn't touch save game files. It only writes to the .mis files, which as I understand it, are only read from at the start of a new patrol, not when loading a saved game.
I am not running NYGM mod, but I think I will install a separate instance to test this. If you are experiencing crashes, and think that SH3Weather is the issue, go to your SH3 folder and locate the SH3Weather.log file, open it with notepad, and paste the contents in this thread. Also, it is IMPORTANT that you give as much detailed information as possible: Is the problem reproducable? When does it happen? What other mods are running? Thanks for your participation and information. Cheers, Jamie

I believe Theluckyone is right. According to my own experience, the mid-patrol save bug appears when you begin your patrol with a SH Weather set windspeed of 0 m/s. The workaround suggested before works everytime.
