I agree with Neal, Beery, CCIP & TDK.
I have already purchased two copies of SH4, I like what I see, except for the glaring problems of an all too early release. I promise to purchase two more if you properly support the dev team in putting out more patches. WE must have a patch, the only reason I ever got into Sub sims was because of the quality of the mods available for SH3! SH4 can be an excellent sim, give us the patch! UBI, if you don't want to fix it, RELEASE AN SDK SO THE MODS CAN! Wilcke |

I have fixes (proper fixes not workarounds) for the akizuki and subchaser guns. I posted them but didnt make a big fuss about them, or promote them etc.. maybe I should upload them again.
Regards AI of merchants, I found two the other day, both were crew level veteran. I made a submerged approach. I sunk the lead ship, then surfaced near the Nagara that was trailing and unarmed.. weird things then happened... The second merchant instead of stopping, made a complete course change, showed me her stern and ran away...!!!!! I fired a few shots at her but wanted to torpedo her (my deck gun was only a 3"inch and modded to less demage). I caught up with her on her beam, and she turned away again..!!!! She definatley did not stop and wait to die... weird!!! Cause I have seen that too... May be something to do with the veteren level, but I checked the merchant layer in the editor and noticed that the area I attacked in was a waypoint for this merchant with a large radius for random movement, maybe that had something to do with what I saw.. maybe it was cause she was unarmed... but I think there is AI there it is just not being implimented properly.. |

Another vote for at least one more patch to fix the hardcoded issues and give the mod folks a reliable base to turn this into a classic.

ditto to all the above
patch 1.3 ought to be a must-do for Ubi to maintain their paying base... 'would be a HUGE dissapointment if SH4 were to be abandoned in the state it's in now!

Cool idea #325
We all heard Neal's voice during one of the video's he posted of him visiting The Devs. "You sent me to war with training torps!?"
I've thought since then that he would make an excellent voice actor for SH5! Anyway, (although this sentiment mirrors that of the thread called: Patch 1.2 Bug Thread) I just wanted to stand up and be counted among the supporters of this campaign.

UBI please release at least one more patch that fixes all the problems listed by Neal. These problems, when combined have caused me to stop playing the game (at least for now). At this stage I would hesitate to buy a sequel.

Yep! I agree. Definitely needs another patch to fix all those bugs.
We paid for a complete product, if it wasn't possible to deliver it complete then patch it please.

This sim shows so much potential, it would be a shame if the devs were not allowed to fix the worst of the hard coded bugs at the very least. I also puchased 2 copies to show my support, please UBI, don't let us down!

We need a patch. This lack of info and tower of bugs is unacceptable!

Count me in
I have been a fan since sh3, and one of the reasons I purchased a new computer was that my old one could not render sh4. I echo all the others who are asking for only what is absolutely needed. I really like this game. It is very immersive, and an obviously large amount of work went into its creation. I never played the game pre-1.2, but I am still very dissappointed in the bugs that reamain. Maybe we cannot ever have it work as the manual says, but there are several critical problems with the way it works right now. For me, the biggest problem is the Unit of Measure problems. Without this and the other issues mentioned previously, this game is unfinished. I am used to these companies releasing games before they have their bugs worked out, and I am patient as well. I am asking for only what was promised by them in the first place.
BTW, I would like notations next to all TDC entries(speed, distance, torpedoe running depth, etc.) to have their appropriate UOM next to them. I am most comfortable with Imperial units. For example, I would like to know if I am setting running depth in yards or feet or nautical miles for that matter. I am hearby signing this thar' petition. |

I support the idea. We need a new patch to make fully operational the product we bought.

Yes, another patch is needed (1.3, 1.4) to make this game 100%. All points of order as originally posted by Neal seem to cover what is needed. Thanks for the support!
