Default Lost 1 Heavy Cruiser, Reward if Found...

Japan is missing one of these this morning, three torps, and down she went.

Morami Heavy Cruiser

The Destroyer Escort hunted me for a little over a hour, but to no avail.

Thats one for the U.S. Navy boys... 9500 tons....

Congratulations, Commander!

The staff at COMSUBPAC will be processing paperwork for a Silver Star shortly.

Unfortunately postwar JANAC will revise the sinking from a Morami Heavy Cruiser to a Gunboat.

From BdU: Commander Hardegen you was ordered to patrol USA east coast under Operation Drumbeat. Now you are in the Pacific sinking our japanese allied ships. When returned to Fatherland you will be transfered to Russian Front. Out.

It's been a good day for the USS Springer (SS-414),under Commander Paul Glenn, a few hours later we sank the Haruna Maru a 1601 ton Small Tanker. A ship sailing alone, is a sunk ship....

That's harunasan maru. Not the same ship.

Did some looking for photos and the only haruna maru I could find was this:

The ship might be misnamed in sh4.

It was the closest pic I could find to what we sank.
The only Haruna Maru I could find was an Ocean Liner.

So I was doing some digging, and I think its supposed to be one of these: http://pwencycl.kgbudge.com/2/t/2TM_class.htm

I can't find a photo of one of those, but it looks very much like it's a downscaled version of this: http://pwencycl.kgbudge.com/1/t/1TL_class.htm

So, I stumbled into a task force in the middle of a fog bank. when I popped up my periscope, there was a destroyer coming almost straight at me. I got off one MK 14 at him, but it missed. The odd part, maybe a minute later there's an explosion in the distance, and my sound man says "Torpedo Impact."

Not long after, there's noises of a ship breaking up on it's way to Davey Jones' locker, and I'm told we sank something.

I check the log and it says 33,800 tons Ise Battleship. I mean, ONE torpedo!!

I'm surprised the damn thing actually exploded at the target.

Ahh yesh, the ole "missed what I was shooting at but I'll take the sink credit anyway" trick... In the "stock" game, if you hit most of the capital ships in the right spot, the game assumes you hit the magazine, in which case, the ship's shells explode and explode until the ship destroys itself. Stock is bad about that with the entire Japanese cruiser line. Even the destroyers are relatively easy to do that with, so long as they stand still for you to aim at 'em thatta way... (The destroyers do have that super-iron bow though, that seems nearly impregnable.) You can hit them generally around the rearmost forward main gun turret (side shot, of course), towards the main superstructure, and away she goes. If you're using certain versions of some mods, that can happen also. What mods, if any, do you have enabled?

Currently, Webster's GFO, the Narwhal, IJN Radar fix, Crew Rank Fix(With Narwhal Mod), and I think that's it, for now.
