On the morning of Sept. 4,
2006, the US Navy's latest fast attack submarine arrived in Galveston,
Texas for commissioning on the 9th. Named after the Lone Star State, the
Texas was escorted into Galveston Bay by the 19th century sailing ship
Elissa. En route to pier 10, Texas crossed the bow of the decorated WWII
submarine USS Cavalla SSK-244. Here are some photos of the event.
