Here is my way to escape after i fire against a convoy.
I start diving to 150m and turn straight to the convoy.
if a destroyer is close to me ,will probably spot me ,but no problem
i follow the convey for a while so that the escort ships get confused about my noise and the rest of the convoy.If the destroyers have spot me some decoys
i turn to the direction with the less destroyers and maintain full speed,some more decoys.
I test it twice with the IXX u-boat type (not sure about the u-boat type now but it's the last type) and i succeed.

Ah the joys of the XXI boat

... it's a whole different game isn't it?... but why limit yourself to 150m depth?... why not go to it's max depth?

About the depth yes i just put this number but usually i go under 200 meters.
I don't know what happen if you have another boat but probably it won't be easy because of the speed.
You can try and let me know the result
