As an old man of the sea (33 years old) i have enjoyed many sub sims over the years going back to Silent Service on the ZX Spectrum.
More recently ive been playing Dangerous Waters as a seawolf skipper, which is a great game but lacks a few things, mainly company, with SH3 you can at least see your shipmates in the boat giving the feeling that you are never alone in your little tin boat.
Im fairly new to SH3 having started playing a few days ago, so I have a few questions for the more "salty" players:-

1.In career mode is it possible to just go out on patrol for as long as you wish, maybe even visiting the Royal Navy ports of Blighty and blowing them to bits?
2.It is better to return to home ports for maintenence or can you return to any friendly port and recieve the same benefits.
3.Is there any restriction on where you sail your boat to, for example Brest to the American coast, and will there be any targets on route or do you have to create these missions yourself?

Many Thanks

sonics (also a real submariner on RN T-Boats)
