Default Flashing load screen problem

Every time I go to move my torpedoes the screen where i do it flashes on and off and whilst moving the torpedeos they go missing?
Has anyone heard of this load screen doing this. I have put newer graphics drivers on but it still does it? Is this a known issue or has anyone had it happen to them?

I didn't really understand what you wanted to say

Does this happen when you go to the torpedo loading screen or somewhere else?

Even if this is happening, torpedoes don't get "missing" when you move them. Depending on your ammount of realism, it takes time to reload torpedoes!

Sorry, it's hard to explain. This must be a graphics glitch. When I go to move torpedoes to be loaded (from external) the torpedo load screen starts to flash on and off as the mouse cursor moves over it. As I try to "drag" the torpedoes whilst this ( the flashing on and off) is happening the torpedoes as I drag them dont regrister as being moved, in fact the boxes from where I took them (reserves) go totally grey ie no black shilouette as should be the case. So this glitch not only causes the screen to "flash" on and off it losses the torpedo garphic and they effectively dissapear and not loadable.

I need to know if this has happened to anyone else, I can't believe I am the only one.

I would hazard a guess that you're using the IX-D2, and the flashing screen is your Weapon Management Screen, which is accessed by pressing the "I" on the keyboard.

If that's the case, then you've discovered a common bug that's been found by several simmers here over the past few months, and has been mentioned numerous times online as far back as 2005. It's happened to me, and rather than trying to put up with it, I just downgraded my sub to a IX-C.

There is a mod called Transparent Konsole- makes the torp loading screen clear. After loading this it fixed my problem, I had the same thing happen to me.

I also found that only loading 2 fish at any one time keeps it from happening. It's when you move 3 or more, or queue 3 or more that it becomes a problem.

And yes, when it happens the torps do go "missing".

I'll see if I can find the link.

Use that and move 2 at a time and your set. Easy to install, just one file and no editing.

"I just downgraded my sub to a IX-C"

It still happens with the V11B boat. I will try the mod mothballs suggests.

Happens to me now and then. The only 'fix' I know of is to save the game, exit, then load it again. That's always cured the problem for me.

When you are online and its for tonnage, no go! I don't understand why only some have this? What is the common dominator? Graphics card, settings? I have a 6600GT Nvidia card.

I've done a search and cant find any other details re this...anyone know where there is further discussion on this?

Default Flashing torpedo screen

Ther are 2 things you can do. Search the forum for the thread about the flashing screen, I remember reading about a fix with the config file that takes care of the problem. This was about 6 or 7 months ago. It also happens in the IXC also, one other thing I did was down load a mod called wolfies tweek pak. After you create the short cut you can make as many tubes as you want. Now what I did was keep the tubes the same, if it said I have 6 torps then I still would change to 6 and do the same for each one. If you want to keep it the way the game gave it to you. But first just click on the boat make the change then click on the year. Save to all years and the problem is gone. Has not happen to me since I did this 6 months ago.
Hope this helps.

Regards

Chuck

No mods.

I think I have found the problem. It appears to be only activating when using the type 1XD2 boat. I have reinstalled several times and now have had to change the type of U boat I am using. So far so good, I will keep you posted for the benefit of others who will experience this issue.
