Default Animated gif files

I edited a animated gif file, now it dont work. i didn't resize it or muck around with the animation all i did was added some text on the bottom of it. I find when you edit any gif file the animation wont work any longer. Why is that?

Dunno, perhaps your software has a seperate function to save animated GIFs.

I use PS ImageReady for gif animation, I'm only just starting out, but to create an animation you must 'tween' (transitions) all the images in your animation.

If I was to open your gif in PS Imageready would I see multiple frames of the gif? I think not. To edit the gif I'm sure that you must have the original image/images, then add your text/changes and then tween the animation.

It is likely that after you added the text to your animation it has messed up the animation and changed it to a standard image.

Sorry if that's not much help, but I'm sure this is the problem.

Any little bit helps Im trying to make an animation of my guildwars character in a fighting move yet i stuff up somewhere along the way, where when i finish it and press play animation nothing happens its just a still image. I think i havn't tween all the images when doing it. Will try again.
