Default GW and Air cover

Hi,

I am using SH3 1.4 with SH3 commander and GW 1.1a, no other mods. It is 9/43 currently and we have survived our 19th patrol. Has anyone else experienced this: I have never seen an aircraft in the game, none, zip, nada. :hmm: When I played the vanilla version way back they were all over the place. Again, no other mods besides SH3 commander/GW. I spend most of my time inside aircover range of england or some other place probably 75%, rarely way out in the mid-atlantic. No PBYs, no Hurricanes, no B-24, nothing. Maybe I should not complain, you know with historically how it was and all, just worry about escorts and ASDIC....

Good hunting,
Brian Whitworth

Actually I've had the same thing happen to me. I started a career in 09/41 and went (so far) until 02/44 and have yet to encounter an enemy aircraft. Considering I often swan around and about Great Britain you'd think I've have them all over me like flies on doo-doo, but up until now the skies have been barren. I'm also running SH3 1.4 with SH3 commander and GW 1.1a.

Look at it this way- a plane has a microscopic chance of spotting you unles you get cought on the radar, somebody radios in your position...

So if you dont encouter any hostile ships that have the time to call bacup a plane wont get you. At least thats my oppinion...

There are some known "bugs" with time compression and airplanes. If you generally travel with 512x or 1024x TC you might never see aircraft. I typically never use higher than 256 unless crossing the atlantic.

I'm only using GW + Sh3com and see aircraft more than I'd like by mid '43.

Cheers,

J

9 times out of 10 I get attacked on the northern and western coasts of Spain as I head towards the Med from Gibraltar-based planes. (Though I wonder if in a historic sense if Spain would have allowed Britain to fly over their airspace to patrol to the southern Bay of Biscay...I wouldn't think so!)

I reckon it could be the TC problem. I see plenty of aircraft from 41 onwards. More than I'd like to sometimes.

I know Teddy Bar has said that most 'realistic' aircraft experience in NYGM 2.2 is felt by running no faster than 128 TC. I use 256. Only in Sept '41 but I assure you they're there.....and you know about it!
