Don't want to be a Newb Sauce

Ok, I don't want newb sauce, but I've just gotten the game and during gameplay I can't access the help menu via the F1 control. Any suggestions?

Very odd. Did you load the 1.4b patch and the correct patch at that?

No offense man, but being a "newb sauce" is extremely hard to acheave. There are many tutorials on SH3 and I have never found much help in the F1 key.

Start with 0% realism and slowly increase it with littlethings first, like limited fuel or batteries, then realistic damage and reload time and then experiment.

I keep mine at 49% realism and I'm doing fine. Everything is on, but I kepp my weapons officer, automatic TDC and all my cameras! I use GW and the Longer U-Boat Sinking Times by NvDrifter.
