damage after saving while submerged

hi all,

sorry if this has been brought up before, but i was wondering if anyone has experienced this:

if i save and exit a game while submerged and in the vincinity of any kind of enemy warships, when i go back into the game it reloads with the sound of crashing, and breaking glass, etc. and my hull strength gets reduced by close to half!! ie: last night i was about 1/2 mile away from a destroyer, it wasn't even close to finding me, and when i saved and reloaded there was a whole lot of noise and my hull strength went from 100% to 57%. i went to external view right away and the destroyer was still far away and not even heading my direction. (this is in oct' 39, type vii boat)

my depth is still the same as when i save and exit, so i am not doing the dreaded crash dive problem.

anybody know anything about this?
