In the middle of Florida right now and playing with this Verizon Wireless cell phone card. Works kind of good in some cases, but not so good in others. I notice telnet has some timing problems so if you don't have 768k down, it just plain doesn't want to work. I think that is due to the fact that this card shuts itself off if it doesn't detect any activity for a brief period of time - like real brief.
The flip side is, you can be on the beach with your laptop and still surfing the net. I started playing with these things like 2 or 3 years ago, but this is my first extended play time on it. I guess like anything else, it has its pluses and minuses. I'll try VPN'ing and try to establish a RA connection to one of my servers. That will be the real test. -S |

Not on the beach. I was using that as an example. Too much sun to see the screen correctly!

Sand + Electronics = Death
There is no way to keep sand out of electronics, no matter how careful you are...it will eventually destroy your machine.
