688i Patch Redux

Hi folks...I've dusted off this classic a couple of days ago. I've d/led the 1.07 patch, run the patch.bat file, but it doesn't seem to "take". I get a dos screen, and it prompts me to press a key. When I do, something flashes on screen way too fast for me to read, then nothing. It sort of looks like it's either giving me an error message, or just completing the .bat file....but when I go to check the version, it's still on 1.0. according to the version tab on the properties menu. Also, the startup graphic still says version 1.0.

Any thoughts? Thanks!
