Just installed a new DVD-ROM hardware device today and I can't seem to get SHIII to run on it.
I can put it in, see the disc icon next to the mouse and then nothing. I tried to run it manually (via the run hardware option) but nothing happened (it reads no disc in the drive). Checked for any drivers I need to install and doesn't seem like i need any. Ran other game discs that I have installed already on the computer just fine. So what gives?

Situation is now worse.....The hardware will not eject my disc and SHIII is still inside it!!
Should I take it to a comp. store and have the warranty cover it?

Well, I happened to figure out how to get the disc out of the hardware without destroying it....and it's getting the boot.
Time to go to a REAL comp store and get something reliable.

ive had to do a pretty messy xp reinstall. ive managed to get most frivers up to dat but ive got a major prob with my "LITE-ON 165p6M50M" DVDRW. it wont install games inc SH3. i keep gettin "cannot read cab file" errors.
normally when i install SH3 it does the starforce protection thingy but it doesnt do that anymore. in device manager under cdrom tab it says current 1 which is USA and im in region 2 which is UK. would this affect it? it doesnt allow me to change it though. ive been on cd-rom drivers.com and looked under lite-on company drivers but mine doesnt seem tho be there. there is one listed as "all driver" but it seems to be a program and not a driver. help |
