Default Whale and Popping Shrimp in the Sonar Sounds

Hey guys....I'm going to try my hand at adding "Sea Life" to the Ambinet Noise the Sonar Operator would here.

What would be the best Sea Life to add?

Whales
Shrimp
Dolphins

Any other kinds....?

It's been done.....problem is to hear the ships "Breaking Up"... you need to be about 3oo yards from the Ship. ......I know some are working on making it Louder....not sure if it can be done.

A shrimp farting. :p
Just kidding. It would be really nice to hear dolphin clicks on the hydrophone when they are nearby.

When the possibility of adding whales/shark models was mentioned in this forum not long ago it began to get me thinking. Wouldn't it be really cool to attribute specific sounds to them ?, like the haunting melody of a whale song when you get within a certain range.

It may or may not be realistic, as I dont even know for sure if whale song is even audible to human ears, but it would be nice to hear if such encounters were rare random events in certain areas of the ocean. Wasn't there a scene in Das Boot where whale song was heard inside the sub, or did i imagine it ? I havent watched it in a while.

Despite the fact that no whale models yet exist for SH3, I trawled the net searching for suitable sounds...surprisingly, with little joy, as most of the sounds available had some background noise such as waves or boat engines, or were in the 'new wave hippy chill out nonsense' category with ambient music laid over it and some daft woman telling you to lie down, relax and feel the motion of the waves.

I mentioned my plight to a sound recordist friend of mine who has promised me he can get hold of nice clean orca sounds, in .wav format...for larger cetaceans like humpbacks, he said he'd see what he could do. So if anybody out there can do the models, I'll bug my friend so that we can add some sound to it, if it's at all possible. I'd really like to see and hear a bit more life in those SH3 oceans.

Hawk, you can change that setting in the mixer file, what is the name of the sound file, I will experiment & post the results!
Cheers.
