Hearing pinging is not cheating!

I was surprised to read in the War ace mod that the 'Cheat' 'Enemy is pinging us'
has been removed.
As an Ex submarine sonar operator I can assure everyone that 'pinging' could be heard very plainly, and there was no doubt when the hunter was in contact, and also when on an attacking run. Sonar (or asdic as we called it then) was a dead giveaway of approaching convoys as the ping could be heard long before they were in detection range. Similar to Radar, where a radar intercept can pick up transmissions as much as 3 times their detection range.
Please restore it in the next mod.

I'm currently using U-war ace 1.7 with GW. The "pinging" can be heard inside the sub when the escorts are using active sonar in war ace. just the crew message "enemy is pinging us" (while your hearing the pings) has been eliminated.

I hate that war cry, it normally ends in me getting my ass blown out of the water, but it do'se add tention.

I agree... sometimes the modders do get a bit trigger happy when it comes to shooting things out of the game, just because THEY don't think that that's the way thing ought to be... but then again, your not obliged to install any mods you don't like

I play GW1.1 as well as a vanilla/stock version and I prefer to hear the 'pinging' similar to submariners true experiences I believe
