I have an X mark on my nav map just in front of me with the name ?ASW Group? below it. Can someone tell me what that means?

using sh3 generator i assuume? the "X" stands for a contact in that quadrant mapped out by intell(i.e. b-dienst, etc) "ASW" means its an anti-sub TF-anywhere from 2 to 6 ships. the "?" on the ends means it's enemy. "+" stands for your own side(german) "-" stands for neutral unit. the contact might not appear in the exact spot the "X" shows but if you sail around the general quadrant you will run into it.

Gee, Thanks a bunch, now I'm really running into trouble as I have a convoy going to intercept my course at the same point and I have a VIIB with no upgrades and it's Sept 1 1943.

Default Just got word

Hi: I emailed the information to a good friend of mine in Australia who used to be in the Navy. This is what he said about the situation. "I used to work a little on ASW - went to school for a week in San Diego on it years ago and had Fleet reps from helos, aircraft, submarines and destroyers/cruisers there to discuss current tactics and technology. It's Anti-Submarine Warfare so I'd plan to steer clear of an ASW group if I were you."

I think I'll take his advice.

I plotted an intercept course to what I thought was a task force, when I sighted them, what I saw was this:

Needless to say I went deep, and ordered the crew not even breath loud.
