Where are my external torpedoes going ?

Hello,

I'm now sailing in a type IXD2 But I have 2 problems regarding the loading of external torpedoes. I looked around in this forum but didn't see anybody with my problem.

- When all of my forward tubes are empty and I'm on the surface to reload from the other reserves 1 of the torpedo slots gets "full colored" has to indicate that there are now ordinance in it. So I'm missing one now that's not bad but it gets worse.

- When I was out of torpedoes I went to a friendly port (not my home base) to see what would happen. When I restarted my patrol it seemed that all my tubes where full. After I fired all internal ammunition I again loaded the external tubes. Problem is that all the reserves' slots filled up with the color grey and i got 1 out of 8 loaded inside the sub.

What gives ?

Thanks

Hi,

never had this problem, but maybe this helps.

You have to have full loading crews in the torpedo room, and on the bridge. Each torpedo takes approximetly 2 hours to load inside the boat. You must drag the torpedo from the external reserve to your internal RESERVE. You have to store it inside first, then load it into the tubes - not straight away. The more the men and the more skilled they are, they faster they'll transfer the torpedo.

Furthermore, if you for any reason dive, the process resets. Meaning, the grey torpedos might be in-cue because it takes such a long time to haul even one torpedo inside.

Hope it helps.

It's a known problem/bug with the IXD2. There is a "workaround" for it, but since I've never used it, I'm not sure what all is involved with getting it hooked up.

There's also problems with the XXI. I know of my own personal workaround for one of it's issues: the batteries. Edit the config file to give you back the realism hit and turn on unlimited batteries. I believe it's a 6% hit, and I usually just add 6% to realistic sensors. To keep any kind of realism, you'll have to keep rough track of how far you travel underwater.
